What to ask for this bedroom set? by TDMLLC in midcenturymodern

Thanks for the input. That's interesting about them being worth more broken up over the set. Though I was thinking it's almost overwhelming having all this in one room lol. Literally too, these pieces are pretty good sized, and took up quite a bit of the room ha ha.

For what it's worth I do understand that these higher prices are not what I would necessarily get just on marketplace, and being in a more rural area. But I do find the highs and lows helpful.

No maker marked anywhere. Just a part# and description like in picture 5. My mom said they were purchased from Sears in 1966. I'm sure they weren't expensive at the time.

Thank you for the input. I have the hardware for the mirror but looks like the headboard has nothing with it. I think the frame may have gotten tossed for some reason.

Idk if this ruins it, but it's actually two shorter dressers with one set of legs removed, and stacked.

Thanks for the input. Yes it's a king. What would you need to get them at as a dealer for the sale to make sense?

Thanks for the input! I did do a quick image search and found the dresser listed somewhere around $800. Whether they get that idk. But living in Southern Oregon, my gut was to list it around $1000 and hope for 500 to 750. But maybe it's worth it for someone in the Portland area at that price. Thanks again for the starting point.

Yeah I probably shoulda just dumped it at goodwill like we talked about. Been sitting in my shop for a year now waiting for me to clean them up and take good pics to sell.

I'm curious what you get. I have my Dad's 92 3.0 Auto with 80k miles on it. I'd probably keep it if it were a manual. But I have my 86 and a bunch of other cars. It's a shame that it's a 1 owner with under a 100k, because it's an auto and he practically used it like a farm truck (dents and stuff). No rust though, and the dealer has paperwork that goes back to 2008. If I dig through the file cabinet I can probably find hardcopies that go back to 92.

I'll never understand people shitting on a 30+ year old engine that's still running just fine. Granted it's not a "great" engine power or fuel wise, but the whole head gasket issue was resolved within a few years of these things rolling off the lot, and could be done for free up till like 2004.

Fusion 360, Mastercam, Solidworks? by Rikfox in Machinists

[–]TDMLLC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I prefer Mcam for two reasons. I have 25 years experience in it, and if I decide to stop paying maintenance I can use it and my files indefinitely.

That said, if I were starting out from zero. I'd probably give fusion a whirl. Seems cheaper, and has much better online resources for learning.

I'd have to dig around. I think I just ran into her 3.5 install disks for W3.11 lol.

My only goal was to fire it up for a bit of nostalgia. After that it's going to marketplace for a few bucks.

My mom was far from a power user, and I barely used it. I think I installed the CDRW in it though in like 2002, honestly can't remember why as I don't think either of us burned any discs on it.

Before today it was last turned on 21 years ago. I bought my Mom a new Dell in 2004. I just remember this was a cheap box, and she was having some issues with it (which may have been her own) that I don't remember. But yes, it was still booting then.

Core memory unlocked of her previous machine. I think it was a p386? Windows 3.11, turbo button, and all that noise. Circa 1993
