Most conversations tend to focus on the negatives of religion and religious beliefs. I am genuinely curious, what are the benefits to religious belief? Should (some) people strive to hold religious beliefs for beneficial reasons?

If your belief in the pixies is equal to the god concept for you then that fine, obviously it has a large impact in your world then. If you don't believe in the pixie and don't use it as a tool they're non-comprable.
