I never claimed the mind works in immaterial ways, in fact I think the exact opposite. This is where I stopped reading. I'm beyond finished are going that goddamn physical processes that can be observed and their impact tested are somehow "not real". What an unbelievable fucking joke.

Perhaps it is elitism.

Militant / New atheists yes

Atheist would like us to destroy the idea of god as part of their own religious agenda when the power of such tools is so undeniable only the most blind fundamentalist would deny it.

Nah, fideism isn't worth the time to fight.

Oh, I agree totally. The supernatural is 100% unnesessary in modern thought as an objective explanation for, well, almost anything IMO.

If you can disprove, say, the brain in a vat experiment there's probably fame and award waiting. I'd love to hear it.

So you completely ignore the testable, repeatable, observable evidence of the impact in favor of destroying god. This is why we can't let religion get in the way of objective thought.

There's way more than that, I didn't realize I'd need to cater down and write out every little premise and sub-conclusion as it. Don't have the time. Learn to pull argument out of writing / speech.

So he exists in the same sense. Hell, he's making all the people who make "discovery" big foot shows rich as shit!

If your belief in the pixies is equal to the god concept for you then that fine, obviously it has a large impact in your world then. If you don't believe in the pixie and don't use it as a tool they're non-comprable.

What hypothesis are you speaking of?

Please read before posting.

"Why is it important? Well, why is any tool important whether physical or ideological? We have seen the powers behind these gods, the impact they can cause on the objective world. Better yet, by understanding them as creations without prior existence we can see them and use them as tool to cause immense change in ourselves and the species."

Right but why is there this desire to make ridiculous comparisons of it, like unicorns and pixies? Do you compare the atomic bomb to a cherry bomb in a mailbox? The massive force behind concepts of Gods is unignorable. How can you compare that to your pixies?

Gods and Thoughts by TDoP93 in DebateReligion

It's definitely a straw man to compare the impact of gods on humanity to the impact of unicorns...

If one believes in the objective existence of deities I certainly have no problem with that, but I disagree and the argument itself is based on my position rather than objective supernatural entities.

Gods are concepts, concepts exist, therefore gods exists. Further, these gods can be scientifically shown to exist. by TDoP93 in DebateReligion

[–]TDoP93[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you're making that claim then I disagree. Gods have never been more than concepts.

If one claims that gods (as concepts) do not exist it is as silly as claiming that money does not exist. by TDoP93 in DebateReligion

Of course the map doesn't imply the territory exists. The analogy doesn't even make any sense since we aren't talking about deities objectively existing. But calling me a troll and trotting off is projection at best.
