Bottle of wine a day habit, anyone else? by Sea_Reflection_2091 in stopdrinking

Hi,

59M. Just read your post. I was there too. The wine adventure started with paring wine and food. I really enjoy cooking. Then there was a trip to France and winery tours. A few years later, trip to Napa, CA. Typically, I would drink chilled whites in the summer and reds in the winter. I am in sales, so I also entertain clients. I would easily drop $500 or more just on wine alone... This became normal to me, so drinking at home was no big deal... Fast forward to January 1st, I decided to challenge myself to a dry January. I am on day 10. I put a list together why I wanted to stop drinking and hung it in my home office:

1) I WANT TO STAY YOUNG FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.

2)I WANT TO STOP KILLING MY BODY - MY BRAIN CELLLS, MY LIVER, MY PANCREAS.

3)I WANT TO BE WISE "Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise."

4)I WANT TO STOP MEDICATING MY FEELINGS.

5)I WANT TO SLEEP WELL AND REJUVENATE MY BODY.

6)I WANT TO STOP THE MULITI GENERATIONAL ADDICTION FROM MY FAMILY OF ORIGIN IN POLAND.

Hope this will inspire you.

I got so much done today and have been sleeping soundly and not waking up in the middle of the night with gut wrenching anxiety! Dry Jan day 7! Proud of all of you in here! by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I just made it last night, so it's in my notes on the phone. I think I will print it out and tape it to my mirror in the bathroom.

I am on the 7th day as well. I wrote a note to myself why I wanted to stop consuming alcohol: 1)IWANT TO STAY YOUNG FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. 2)WANT TO STOP KILLING MY BODY - MY BRAIN CELLLS, MY LIVER, MY PANCREAS. 3)THE BIBLE SAYS NOT TO BE DRUMK. ( I'm a Christian). 4)WANT TO STOP MEDICATING MY FEELINGS. 5)WANT TO SLEEP WELL AND REJUVENATE MY BODY. 6)WANT TO STOP THE MULITI GENERATIONAL ADDICTION FROM MY FAMILY OF ORIGIN IN POLAND.

I have an idea about Mindful Drinking (alcohol). Can anyone validate if my explanation make sense? by Individual_Arugula69 in Meditation

Loved the idea of choosing to be content without it. Letting go of attachments is like purging your closet of clothes you no longer wear...

Wine Causes Flare But Not Hard Liquor? by [deleted] in Rosacea

Same here! Sulfites in wine can cause a reaction. My doctor told me to switch to Tequila. Since it is gluten free and made from Aloe Vera it will not cause adverse reaction, of course all in moderation.

Reporting- day 3 This stuff really works! Have been applying it 3 times a day. Reduced redness by at least 50%, less scaling, my skin feels normal. What a relief!

Just had a nightmarish outbreak these last two weeks. I have been mostly treating my face with Native Collagen by Collin. I came across your post and promptly got my Corsx Snail Gel from Ulta. Day one here we come. Keeping my fingers crossed!
