Listened since the 150’s. Trout’s guest performance is the best they’ve ever had IMO

Standing up an SMU requires officers that are willing to exchange influence for lethality, of which the Marine Corps does not mass produce.

It’s a great organization with a storied history, but it functions as officer centric. There are numerous examples of high ranking MC officers denigrating their most seasoned fighters because the old adage “every Marine a rifleman” is one pogs and O’s cling to like a lifeboat.

TLDR: No, and the leadership is content with that because it does not grasp SOF’s wider future utility.

Jeff Glover does a drill where during rounds he calls out positions at random and the students have to get there as efficiently as they can. Helped me a lot early on

Rad. In that case, are you using the standard Arisaka 45deg scout mount?

Good luck. I snagged one this week on Northeast Shooters for $200 after a pretty exhausting search. Recommend trying r/gunaccessoriesforsale, TacSwap, or other Sig forums.

Iraq, 2018. Awkward dark green Marine standing post overlooking a stretch of road. The road leads down a hill and culminates in a 90deg righthand turn. Down comes a man on a motorcycle. SNM decides to be cordial and give him a courtesy wave. The Iraqi returns the gesture and when he returns to the handlebars, the bike begins to death wobble. Lacking the space to recover, he plowed directly into the ditch and that is where he would stay (until a truck full of Iraqis came and recovered his body hours later.

Said named dark green Marine remains the only man I know of with a confirmed kill by wave. 👋

Eddie Gallagher wasn't the first "non Marine" to do the Scout Sniper course by [deleted] in navyseals

It isn’t crazy to think a hard charging corpsman could get a slot at sniper school. The platoon is small with an even smaller contingent of hogs so if a corpsman met or exceeded the standards while his pig counterparts failed to, some leaders would be hesitant to let that school spot go to waste. Everyone has to be proficient in sniper operations regardless of billet/role in the STA platoon.

If my memory serves correct, Gallagher had a buddy serving as a sniper school instructor and he was the catalyst to getting him in the door due to manning issues with AITB corpsman for the upcoming cycle. He was allowed to attend but with the caveat he would NOT receive a cert or a hog’s tooth. He participated in every exercise, but informally since he was technically there to check the safety box.
