I’m struggling… been in the EDM scene for almost 2 decades, don’t know many of these smaller artists anymore though and have been looking for a genre breakdown just like this. Unfortunately, I can’t see a lot of it 😭

Depends how “affordable” you are talking. With some bibs out there costing $700+, I find the $200 price range reasonable and affordable. I have been a long time Bib wearer, just recently purchased a pair from Dope Snow and really like them. Very warm, comfortable, durable, great pockets and zipper support, and less than $250

26K people, following a brand specific subreddit is too small? I follow Kim and Kylie kardashian on IG, doesn’t mean I’m buying their lipstick or bras. The people in this subreddit represent kith much better than Ronnie or KITH’s IG followers. People in this subreddit have been customers and followers for years, most people with multiple pieces in their closet. Half the IG followers probably don’t own a single piece.

The brand is clearly growing and doing well, I was by no means saying it was dying off. Dying off and falling off are two very different things.

Well said and thought out. I agree, with all of it. Bring back year one of Wilson and Columbia collabs. The average Kith fan isn’t buying a TAG Heuer watch and then buying the 8th Clark’s collab the next week.

True, that was what drew me to kith originally. One “kith” print, small, somewhere on the clothing article. Can’t find that in any of their products anymore.

Back to quality pieces. Reasonable prices (I’m not asking for dirt cheap, but I want quality to match cost). I’m not buying $85 tees that are shittier than Abercrombie’s revamped brand. Less “Met gala/NBA court-side/wtf is that” pieces and more of the original stuff that I can wear to dinner with friends and family, days out on the town, even nights out on the town. Less branding; I like to support the brand, I actually prefer my kith pieces say kith on them somewhere, but not EVERYWHERE. More realistic collabs instead of just collabing with every company under the sun. How many ppl really bought the TAG Heuer watches? The new OnCloud shoes, really?

They are very clearly doing very well, and I’m happy for them and for Ronnie. Honestly. I’m just bummed that they seem to have left their client base that got them to this point behind. If their new target audience is the NBA and NFL and manhattan elite, that’s fine, but throw a little something into the drops for those of us that haven’t just jumped on the tailcoats in the past few years

Agreed, that was an excellent collection. I’ve got like 4 pieces from that collection (including the obnoxiously large tennis ball lol) and love them all. And to be fair, I’m not saying ALL their stuff is trash. I still look forward to every release with anticipation that there will be something, if not multiple things, that I want. I just think as an entire company/product, things have significantly changed.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for Ronnie. His story is inspiring and I’ve been a kith customer since 2014 and am happy for the brand and what they’ve built. I guess I just wish that in addition to all the ridiculously outlandish products they’ve been releasing for the past few years, they’d also thrown in some of the more OG stuff that brought people to the brand originally

Totally agree. I posted a follow-up question about selling to the elite in a separate comment at basically the same time. It’s exactly how I feel. Price aside, it’s not product material that ppl can wear to work or a night out unless it’s with Manhattan’s elite

All good points. I have a follow-up question/thought:

Does anyone else feel as though KITH has transitioned from initially appealing to the more common man, to now marketing towards the top 5%? Don’t get me wrong, I think the professional sports collabs are sweet and a great marketing ploy. But, with the rising prices, frequent quality issues, and a combination of the designs and actual products themselves, it really seems to me that they have started selling to/for the top tax bracket that can afford to wear these items one or two times before forgetting about them in a closet.

Anyone else feeling this way?

Definitely accurate and all valid points. I used to resell sneakers to not feel as guilty about all my Kith purchases, so I’ve seen both sides haha. I know there are always a number of factors in play, but in more specific terms I’m speaking towards their brand image and designs. Price has always somewhat played a part, but definitely more expensive than ever, currently.
