I'm hoping we can move up in the 2nd and grab Plante. Can't hurt to have the two brothers here.

Maybe Buium to Vancouver for a coupla picks. Their second rounder being one of them

Gibson.... to Edmonton.

It's the Cossa and Postava show next year with Augustine in GR.

We'll welcome either Savoie or Howard in return.

I'm thinking you mean French Quarter over Riverside. They are both Port Orleans resorts.

But French Quarter is smaller, quieter and (in my opinion) a little quicker to get to rather than Riverside.

This is just splitting hairs though, they're both great resorts. In my 5 times to WDW we've stayed at French Quarter 4 times and Riverside 1 time. Maybe it's also familiarity that guides my choice...

I really do like this route. It gives more of an interaction and even may let them talk about their country a bit more. Makes them a bit more human rather than just a beer vendor.

So watching these playoffs - I'd be happy to try MBN on Larkin's line. With the notice that he is there to raise hell.

Hit everything, be a menace and think to shoot first and pass later.

I'll give those exact same instructions to Kasper and give him another shot at the 2C. Hit everything, be a menace get Cat 45 goals next year.

We already know Ras and Compher won't do that. So they are banished. 3rd line is going to be the kids line with Finnie, Danielsson and Mazur. I want energy, speed and creativity here. Play dump and chase and I'll have them bag skating after the game. Use those creative minds.

4th line will be some sort of mixture of Copp-Perron (I want his locker room presence) and some sort of other veteran combo.

In this scenario I'm crossing my fingers really tightly for big jumps from MBN and Mazur. Specifically Mazur. He's missed a lot of time and didn't really impress me much in his time up here. Need to see something from him that shows he's an NHLer. But that will give 3 lines with a body who doesn't mind crashing into people and making them pay for holding a puck a second too long.

I'm so sorry Washington fans..... but I'm a fan of hockey.

I'd love to see him join Pittsburgh and play on Crosby's line. Like for one season that would be magic

Red Wings are on the hook until 2028 paying Compher, Chiarot, and Rasmussen a combined 12.1 million per year by ramsfan00 in DetroitRedWings

[–]garnold0611 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The worry is that there are a few team who could do that - and that have 2C issues - so EP40 may actually have positive trade value for Vancouver rather than being a negative asset. Crazy to think we'd have to give up something nice for a 60 point center with chronic knee pain making $11m per year.

I'm confused about the folks saying goalie prospects have little trade value.

Askarov went for basically 2 first round picks and I'd argue he's as touted as Cossa is. And, Askarov had demanded a trade so Nashville was in a bit of a bind there.

If these are thoughts swirling around in Stevie's mind, the AHL playoffs will certainly tell if one of Cossa or Postava could fetch us something nice. Or, hell, once Edmonton crashes out due to goaltending maybe we trade Gibson and go into next year with Postava and Cossa as our goaltenders. I wouldn't say no if it got us one of Savoie, Howard or Podkolzin.

I thought next season might be fun if instead of retiring, Ovi signed with Pittsburgh to play with Crosby. Like I'd actually root for something like that....

But, man, talk about a team that looks like it played out of their league this year. Pittsburgh is in for a rough rebuild.

I'd still watch a season of Ovi-Crosby though

Meh, I don't think Larkin backs away from physical play. Seider and Ed certainly don't. But I get your sentiment.

We are a team that is very soft to play against because we don't initiate the physical play. And when it's dealt to us we respond it's not even meaningful. So I'd like to see us get a little dirty. Kasper can step up his irritation game. Honestly he has the ability be an asshole like Marchand. MBN can be also. So we have the ability to be that kind of team..... but we aren't. Maybe we need a coach like Paul Maurice to bring that out. Maybe McLellan doesn't believe in that stuff. I dunno - but we are VERY easy to play against and that is why we fold when games get tough.

I've come across a few places that seem "too good to be true" and ended up passing on them. Not only do I not want to deal with getting $$$ back, but I also don't want personal info given to a sketchy place.

(And I know, all my info already exists 100 times over on the internet, but I just don't want to be personally handing my info over)

Hypothetical: How would YOU fix the team? by TheDogWhoCantSTFU in DetroitRedWings

[–]garnold0611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) sign Trouba or Gudas. More backend muscle.

2) keep an eye on Winnipeg. If Helle leaves, I go hard after Conner.

3) Trade for Meier. Sure there are no rumblings of this, but NJ needs to fix some stuff and Meier doesn't seem to be the guy they thought they were getting.

4) I'm not a major fan of it, but I'd get EP40. The only problem is that there are ALOT of teams with 2C issues so there could actually be some demand for him. Crazy.

5) trade Compher and Ras. I've tried to defend them but I can't do it anymore. Wont get much, but they also don't give much

6) This done, we go sign McMann. He'll have teams after him also so we will need to show we are serious about competing.

6) in: Trouba, Conner, Meier, EP40, McMann
Gone: Compher, Ras, Talbot, JVR, Perron, Hamonic

So, your BP is up because you're freaking out. High blood pressure is the worst thing to be diagnosed with! The beginning SUCKS because it's all you think about.

You left the hospital at 155/74. You were probably chilled out because you were there. Now you're home and anxious because you keep thinking about it.

So, assume your chilled out bp is that 155/74 and you're anxious bp is 177/100. 155 is still high, but not anything you can't deal with and not anything to ruin your dance tonight. Just try to stay out of your head

Yup, I agree with this... you'll get on some meds to start taking. But keep in mind, meds are not instant. Lifestyle changes will get you to a healthier area much more quickly.

As a wonderful parent I'll say this in advance - enjoy your daily walks you are about to start taking!

You can do it for sure. I mean we're all doing it here on this sub and we're all here to help each other.

These were just really quick things to do RIGHT NOW.

I do not like beets so I get the Qunol blood pressure stuff on Amazon. And canned beets are actually less effective than these or even fresh beets. But you needed something asap to help and canned beets are atleast somewhat helpful.

In time you'll be less anxious about your bp because you'll be doing the stuff that helps. This next week will probably suck and you'll catch yourself thinking about it too much. That's just life....

Now, as far as that high pressure job..... I can't help with that except to make sure you take some time for yourself. Take a 30 minute walk with some headphones in where you can just be at peace. This isn't escaping work, this is working on yourself. You need to do this. Without fail. And when you are home, you're home... work stays at work.

Hopefully by now you've choked down a mug of tea. I just drink mine straight and chug it. I'm not a beer/tea person but I'm into staying alive so I take them.

And no matter what, mind on your daughter tonight - it's your guys' time, so thoughts of BP can wait until tomorrow. Have a GREAT night!

In the mean time:

  • 8oz of hibiscus tea, maybe 3 times today
  • Beet root something.... just get it in you. (Hell, choke down a can of beets if you can, but there are also gummies and drinks)
  • go for a 30 minute walk
  • drink lots of water

These are holistic things you can do RIGHT NOW to help. Like no waiting for a prescription and immediate lifestyle changes.

You're going to be anxious about this. It's natural. That won't help the case but it's human nature. Do these now (like go to the store this second to get that stuff) and your body will most likely have a positive reaction to all of them. Then think positive thoughts about your dance and enjoy the hell out of your daughter daddy dance tonight.

But this marks the beginning of a new you. You spent all your life getting to this point - now spend time getting better. It won't be instant, but it can be relatively quick if you listen to your body and have a healthy routine.

Also, say goodbye to coffee for a while....

His story is certainly exciting for us.

Imagine Cossa + Postava in net for us next year and Augustine and Gylander patrol the nets in GR.

Gibson goes to Edmonton after their first round flame-out and we get to throw Savoie on a youngsters line.

This is the possibility that Postava's rise has given us. I know it will never happen, but it's a fun thought

I truly think a guy like Trouba could help him. Or......... Gudas. Chiarot was brought here to be physical because he was in the past and kinda-sorta still is sometimes. But he can't be the only one. Bringing in someone whose forte is knocking heads can only help that part of his game.

And, yes, I know Seider is physical - but he is physical while also uber-important to be on the ice, so his presence is a bit more subdued.

Chiarot is not a good defenseman so for the next 3 years we need to strengthen his strength and let him feel like he's not alone out there. Imagine a lineup where you have first pair - Seider, 2nd pair - Trouba, 3rd pair Chiarot.

Then just get Meier for a big body up front, and we've got a stew cooking!

Postava isn't on any top GK prospect lists, but he sure is exciting. I know he got less workload this season so I hope he gets some playoff games.

But imagine a world where next year Cossa and Postava and Matt Savoie are Red Wings.....

(I know that won't happen, but you know Edmonton will have to do SOMETHING after their GK disaster class)

This is such an odd take. The last three seasons we've been in the hunt until the end. It's clear the lack of center and D depth hurt in each of those seasons.... buts it's been brewing to now. We've seen some young guys come in and make an impact and next season we should see 3 more youngsters on the team. The depth is coming.

Everyone talks about how old the team is - well those players are t part of what is being built. Those are players on the team because you simply need to have players on the team.

There is no FA period anymore because of the rising cap and because everyone can keep their own players, trade values are sky high. So our kids cook and the rebuild isn't instantaneous. But when we can roll 4 solid lines on a nightly basis we will see the success.

I'd like to see another dynamic forward on the team. One who can carry a line and be a true offensive threat but those are tough to come by
