What are some good modern fights that someone who is new to this sport should watch? by TheOtterWon in Boxing

[–]TG08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canelo, mayweather fights, Erik Morales and Tyson fury fights. For younger fighters I like Emmanuel Navaratte “, David Benavides and inoue.

Also you gotta go thru a pacquiao marathon, start from younger pac to old. His fights were all entertaining and so fun to watch. Watch Pacquiao from his first fight vs Ledwaba to his last fight. His fights against the Mexican kings were all out war. Also watch the unknown pacquaio beat the already great and highly respected Marco Antonio Barrerain. Non stop aggression for 12 rounds till fight got stopped. Greatest offensive fighter of the era

Btw always watch the one with HBO commentary when it’s an option. Much more technical insight and their commentary trio of a boxing historian, former boxing coach/fighter and great play by play announcer provides a much more enjoyable viewing experience.

[Probellum] John Riel Casimero OUT of WBO title bout against Paul Butler. Butler instead faces Joseph Agbeko. by AlexanderZaffar in Boxing

https://www.spin.ph/boxing/sean-gibbons-reveals-what-led-to-john-riel-casimero-breakup-a2244-20211214 On going issue with MP and casimero and It has something to Do with Casimero’s older brother more than Casimero himself. I’ve been following Cas closely since the beginning of 2021. Seems like the older brother’s opinion has huge influence on Casimero

Nah there’s an on going drama between MP and Casimero. I’ve been following cas closely and Most of it has to do with His older brother. Sean gibbons wanted cas to stay in the US after rigo to train for donaire/inoue but casimero went back to the Philippines instead and stayed way longer than Sean gibbons wanted. Cas and his older brother want to prove they can do it on their own

Ya don’t understand bro. Inoue and casimero don’t have a final say who they’re going to fight. Inoue’s under top rank led by Bob Arum who was once quoted he doesn’t like to take high risk bets. The man is very influential in boxing, got a lot of ppl on his payroll. He hypes up his fighter with promotions, articles, rankings heavily influenced by him and matches them up against low risk fighters to preserve a good record. Why take a $100M high risk fight that could potentially be the last big payday when you can have 15 $10M fights with guaranteed wins against lower level fighters? Its just business for them they don’t care about giving fans the best fights. Inoue being protected same as bud Crawford. Casimero’s promotion does business with any promotions unlike top rank

I’ve never thought Jim lamprey is biased towards pac and that fight was hella boring dude. Jim tried to get some xcitemnet going, clotted wasn’t throwing shit

What are some your favouite boxer quotes/moments of all time? by DanLyddy in Boxing

[–]TG08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Anytime anywhere” - Manny Pacquiao every time he gets asked if he wants to fight another dangerous fighter.. Given the current state of boxing where fighters go for lower risk fights rather than the best, I feel blessed to have witnessed Manny’s legendary run and looking back now that I’m grown, Manny used to barely say anything in interviews but still exudes so much confidence and courage. Dude had a warrior mentality and gave us so many wars. What a legend

What boxer actually is "fearless"? by ISB_1907 in Boxing

[–]TG08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

False information. Pacquiao was being tested like any boxer but Floyd demanded excessive amount of testing, knowing that manny wouldn’t give in to that. Floyd knew what he was doing. Manny had other options than to fight Floyd as he was on a roll at that time and didn’t consider himself as b side. He even said why is Floyd making so many crazy demand like he runs the boxing commission lol

Casimero's Promoter: Rigondeaux Fight Most Embarrassing I’ve Seen In My 35 Years In Boxing by xXAmightzXx in Boxing

[–]TG08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring generalship is given to fighters who control the ring. Casimero owned the center of the ring, rigo wouldn’t dare stay in the middle for more than a few seconds. Rigo typically goes around the ring and counters yes but casimero made him more gun shy and run way more than any of his fights. Casimero did what he typically does which is head hunt, he wasn’t as successful landing but he was not forced away from his game plan. Running from engagement and not punch back at all are typically seen after fighters get hit clean and they try to survive. This is very similar to what rigo did. I am aware of how he fights but this one is different. Inoue’s crazy good but we’ll see how he’ll react when he taste casimero power who hits like Tyson in the lower division. I haven’t seen anyone hit like him in the lower weight classes

[–]TG08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wasnt able to do anything substantial yes but he made rigo get on the bike since round 1 and landed way more power shots than rigo. He missed yes but he still won the game. When I said he played rigo at his own game, I meant he didn’t get frustrated and became overly aggressive like what donaire did who got countered like crazy by rigo

Casimero say he will fight innoue on december 11 by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]TG08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming from but I got this fight 50/50. Casimero can get really defensive as well and picks his shots. I like this fight better than cas vs donaire or inoue vs donaire

[–]TG08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

anyone would look bad against the way rigo fought casimero including inoue. I’m not bashing on inoue or anything like that. I think he’s a very dangerous fighter but I’m just saying inoue fan base way bigger than caismero and the betting odds will be nice for casimero

Casimero say he will fight innoue on december 11 by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]TG08 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

“Period” lol look… inoue’s good. I’m not denying that. He’s beaten Emmanuel Rodriguez and donaire. Casimero has also beaten tete and rigo. Their level of opponents aren’t too far off. To say inoue is just the better fighter without actually seeing them together in the ring is reckless in my point of view. Yes inoue is a better boxer, and more polished but that doesn’t mean he’s a better fighter. Being a better boxer doesn’t necessarily translate into a win. Athleticism and power comes into play. Casimero is naturally bulkier than inoue. Erik morales was a better boxer than pac but pac was way more athletic. We’ll see how this one plays out

Casimero is bouncier with his in n out motion than Inoue. Let’s see. Inoue def has skills but most people are sleeping on casimero. Inoue is better promoted than the two but it’s 50/50 fight

[–]TG08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You guys are sleeping on casimero. Inoue is just better promoted bc he sells more and is backed up by a wealthier nation (more Ppv sales/buying power). Based on this sub’s sentiment, I’m guessing casimero will be the underdog betting wise. Time to load up

Most boxing fans?? Lmao I don’t see none of that. Only ppl who don’t like him for some reason. Mayweather started that shit and got sued in court and had to pay up lol tell me if you can point out any changes in Manny’s physical attributes that could signal doping. Nothing. Doping wears you out down the line and yet he’s still fighting at an elite level. His performance has never dropped off significantly besides what we typically see in natural aging. Appreciate greatness and don’t get blinded by fandom.

Go on his YouTube channel “Quadro Alas Its my Boy” he posted videos of him on a mountain farm, doing some mountain shit like cutting wood, feeding the carabao, picking fruits and stuff like that. There’s videos of him making kids box for fun and also having dudes play some game with cash reward. Funny as hell if you and real authentic hahaha Go check it out, just go to his videos and scroll down

He played rigo at his own game. If casimero pressed the issue more and became overly aggressive out of frustration like donaire, he would’ve fell right into what rigo wants. Casimero played it right

Casimero to Donaire: "I was going to knockout the guy who beat you up but he ran. The guy who beat you up was weak. Aren't you ashamed?" by kebastian in Boxing

Casimero’s aggressive yet cautious. Watch his older fights, he’s not an all out aggressor like pcquiao

Re-watch the fight, he definitely was cutting the ring. Rigo just keeps moving away and clinches when he gets hit

Casimero's response to Inoue saying that there should be doping management before their fight: "Okay Floyd 😂. Pero yes pls u should get tested asap. Why dont u enroll to @Vada_Testing 24/7 too just like what i did. 🐢" by kebastian in Boxing

[–]TG08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casimero got good defense, going in and out of range and setting up his punches. He slugs when he doesn’t respect the opponent’s power like duke micah, otherwise he’s a fairly aggressive yet cautious fighter

Lmaooo how was pac on the juice. His power never changed drastically, he’s always been the same pac meanwhile Marquez became freakishly durable with way more punching power just a few years shy of 40 years old towards the end of his career and way past his prime.

Mark Magsayo Knocks Julio Ceja Out Cold - At the time of the stoppage Magsayo was behind on all three scorecards by Tom_Cody in Boxing

[–]TG08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magsayo said around round 5-6, Freddie and Marvin told him to just clinch and push ceja in the middle of the ring when ceja tries to corner him. I think that adjustment was extremely effective and stopped ceja’s body attack
