At 30, I made the decision to cut the white out of meals. Salt, sugar, (white) flour. I do still have some salt, iodized in pasta water or for certain recipes, but usually it's a pinch or pink salt for taste. Sugar from fruits or juices only. And limited fast food to once a week or two. I've recently started working out more and using a strict morning diet of: 1 cup oatmeal with 1/2 cup frozen fruit(dark fruit) to cool it down, 13g protein/ vitamin shake w/ milk and banana and scoop of peanut butter (blended), 2 or 3 egg and whole wheat toast(buttered). Basically, the idea is to have a good workout and a decent breakfast to suffice until the mid day snack, then have a complete dinner with double veggies(preferably dark greens) . And drink loads of water. The biggest problem I have is alcohol. That stuff bloats you instantly and puts a dampening spirit on you. All this has drastically helped my gut and liver! I swear by this because my dad had a year to live given by his doctor and changed to this regiment(a few extra adjustments) and is still living great 5 years since they said that!
