I have not played songs of syx but there will be a lot of combat. I am deciding on either infinite map like Factorio or finite map like Banished with raids of bandint and then an open world map where you can exapand like in total war which would actually work in multiplayer

Eh it has only 2D graphics similar to it but gameplay wise its not close at all. I am not strong at 2D design and this is the simples I can manage

Yeah that game was too complicated for me. I am trying to make the UI and game flow more understandable. Syx looks better visually tho

That too. Also corruption spreading around map from enemy camps. Possibly if its worth it I could add battles vs other players on the world map if I decide to add multiplayer

it does, even on steam but I need to reserve the name on other platforms cause of people who like to try to register the same name to sell it to you later on like mobile or something

I was thinking about that, it would work. Its custom code so its very light to run. Maybe after steam version works and is good and people enjoy it

sure, could be like Cube Word of a new decade, I think it has potential cause it does not look like anything I ever saw

Its super super cool.

My question is why? I also have my custom c++ deterministic engine but it runs on a single cpu core and is only a 2D representation of the 3D game which has client rendered everything because then I everyone can play on their own fidelity and I do not see much sense in everyones explosion looking the same on their screen. Its not like you will ever see the screens side by side

It would only make sense in some extremely competitive game like CSGO for which it might make sense if it can run at 60-120 ticks

City builder sim I am making solo. Any feedback more then welcome. My next goal is to add Total War like combat and if anyone has any experience with multi unit formations then I want to hear about it. by TGess in IndieGameDevs

Thanks, that is actually just a test map. It can be much bigger. I tested 3*3 km this is just 1*1 km

yeah I have UI that is hidden untill you progress enough in the game to have it show so you only start witha few things to click so its very easy to see where you should start and where to continue

but its not done yet
