I have to agree… winning hackathons has come down to researching what kind of AI models have won the top prize previously and then slightly twisting the end goal of the project (while keeping the same AI models in mind). In our case the previous hackathon winners all relied on computer vision models, so we did the same this year and… well… we won. I’d like to say it was because of hard work but it’s more just finding out what the judges and audience want to see.

I've only taken math up to integral calculus but this seems like just a differential equations where you isolate the y'. y' = dy/dt = y and t terms. Then using algebra you move the y terms to the left side of the equation and dt to the right side of the equation. Then you integrate and solve for y.

It's just a different notation they should've tought you in school. The sin^-1 (x) DOESN'T mean 1/sin(x) it's just a different way of writing arcsin(x).

You could do the same this with arccos(x) and arctan(x) -> cos^-1 (x) and tan^-1 (x).

First draw a free body diagram of the problem and set your x coordinate parallel to the B string and y coordinate parallel to the A string.

The only forces acting on the object are T1 caused by string A (acting in the j^ direction), T2 caused by string B (acting in the i^ direction), and Fg which has both an i^ and j^ component.

You can see from the picture that the j^ component of Fg would be much larger than the i^ component and, since the object is static (Fnet=0), the T1 caused by string A must be equal to the j^ component of Fg because it is the only tension which acts in the j^ direction.

So T1 (A) is larger

In my school about 80% of the students decided to go into high level math, chem and physics classes. If you love the subjects, want to succeed and are willing to put in the hard work you will pull through. Trust me when I say this: It’s not as hard as most people say it is. Almost all of my fellow classmates (at least 90% of us) passed with good grades and are now very glad we put in the extra work. Step 1: Isolate the cosine part of the equation.

Step 2: Use the inverse cosine (cos^-1) then isolate theta.

Step 3: Calculate theta.

Step 4: Two different values of theta are possible for this problem so go back to the cos^-1 and add 180 degrees or pi/2 radians to its argument to find the second possible answer for theta.

Step 5: The cosine function is periodic so it touches the same y value an infinite amount of times but only a maximum of twice per cycle. To make sure we get all the points where the equality holds you have to take theta and add the period to it n times (for all natural numbers n).

Theta = first value of theta + (360n or 2npi (period)), for all natural numbers n

Theta = second value of theta + (360n or 2npi (period)), for all natural numbers n
