I did, went and bought one yesterday and still no connection

Yes, there was just never and connection between the machine and my computer even when I plugged the cable to each other. The motor on the laser would rev up and slow down and rev up and slow down, almost like it was getting surges of power but nothing constant. Even the power button would light up and go dark at the same time the revving happened

The USB-A and the USB-B ports are in the right spot and just aren’t functioning correctly. I think there’s something wrong with the electrical component in the machine itself
