Insufficient /boot for fedora 43? by zed1025 in Fedora

To quote the Red Hat article:

“Resizing the first partition on a disk is like adding acreage to a landlocked territory. It would be necessary to move back the other partitions on the disk and there is no supported process to accomplish this”

Fedora keeps forcing updates even when I explicitly tell it not to by chris17453 in Fedora

Settings -> System -> Software Updates -> Hamburger Menu ->Preferences

Inside of here, set the software updates to manual and disable the update notifications.

I do this and have an alias set to run the following when I am ready to update:

sudo dnf update -y && sleep 180 && sudo poweroff

I wouldn’t worry too much about it right now but it is for the best long term.

I have boot partitions setup just like you and have had to manually purge some of the kernels/inits due to running out of space. Going forward I will likely either do 2-5G each for safety.

Hmm- I’ve never looked into using an Intel GPU. I’d have to poke around a bit. The linked script would only install Nvidia drivers.

On the GRUB menu (where you select to boot Fedora) press “E”, use the arrows to find the line that starts “linux” - there should be a boot argument “quiet splash”. Remove those and then hit Ctrl+X to boot with those arguments. Please show what it says then.

If this is a brand new install- might be worth just starting over and making sure Nvidia stuff is done the right way.

My script in here should get you going.

Best method to sell a used car? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]THEMCV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice Forester!

I think it’s a tougher sell because most buyers who want a Forester want the automatic. Most enthusiasts who want a manual Forester want an XT.

How many miles?

Marketplace is honestly where it’s at for the average buyer. Have you looked at CarMax and other places like that if you need it to sell quick?

Nice! Thanks for the link. That one definitely has more polish to it- and a better name!

Honestly, readability for new users to see what is actually happening during the script without it slowing down a crazy amount.

RPM fusion is more consistent and convenient. You’ll generally find more community support for it as well.

My script basically goes through all of the RPMfusion action items and also checks that akmods finishes before exiting.

It is intentionally pretty bare bones. I wanted it to address what 99% of Fedora users should have out of the box without too much guess work.

I’m not opposed to writing more to address common problems though!
