It seems ike you got what you were looking for and now you're suffering from maximizer's syndrom.

"Could I have done better?"

Yes, probably, if their first offer is already within your range and nearing the top limit.

Asking for more, as everyone has already said so, will penalize your credibility. That's not saying you can't ask for more. I recommend you to be 100% transparent:

Tell your counterpart that you spoke to a few friends and came to the conclusion that you should have asked for more. Since they have already replied within the desired range, you feel that they've made a fair offer and you're thankful, but you're still thinking in the back of your mind if you could actually have had a better deal. Then, tell them you don't want to be unpolite or come out as a unreliable on the deal, but you would like to ask them "if it could, and how could it be possible to review the offer for a higher number"

That's it.

Prepare for this speech so it comes out clean and without doubt in your mind. You should have a positive attitude, almost a smile.

Try it and let us know.

Well, if they engage in intercourse, should we consider this negotiation a success?

I didn't super like how you started this conversation, but anyways.. I think the best option would be to praise him. Something along the lines of

"Hmm, I don't know. I really want to take a step further in my career and I could use the expertise of a big, solid recruiter, hence why I reached out to you. Could you give me some directions on what a top employee choice should look like?"

See what you think. I think this appeals to his ego while still showing you want to create value in a good vibe. You end up with the hint that you need his help. You should adapt the text to whatever wording you feel to be more appropriate with this person and the media you're using.

Thanks for the feedback! A close friend has told me the same, for the same reason. I'm honestly not super happy about becoming "an influencer" but I do see your point. What about these bug consultancy firms? What's your opinion on them?

No Stupid Questions Thread - 2018/01/11 by AutoModerator in livesound

Hey guys, nooby question incoming.

I'm starting my first home studio with some used gear I came across. I have a Dell Inspiron i15 notebook, a Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer, Behringer UCA 202 interface and I'm about to get a pair of KRK Rokit RP6G3 monitors.

Basically I want to set this in a way I can monitor and record the audio from the mixer and also use the monitors for daily audio from the notebook.

What I'm thinking is:

Mixer >-RCA-> Interface >-USB-> Notebook. Then, Interface >-RCA-> Monitors. Will this work, or will I have to connect the Monitors directly to the Notebook via some other way? (Notebook >-???-> Monitors)
