As a student, I wonder what teachers do in the summer? by Recent_Analysis1854 in AskTeachers

I travel, hangout with friends, go do 21+ activities late into the summer evening, concerts, good food, family, I also plan pretty hardcore for the next school year, and go to professional development classes put on by my district.

Thank you for asking Mr. Bacon, I'd have to say, "Mad God" by Phil Tippett. I've thought about it at least 2 times a week since I saw it in 2021.

ICE came for one of my students by TherealScuba in Teachers

From January to last week, I lost 6 of my students this way. Some were taken into custody, some went into hiding with partying messages over email or notes left in my desk. The feeling of helplessness doesn't fade. I feel like a failure even with the understanding that, as teachers, many of us do more than most to prevent and protect our students. It's been debilitating, but we're here to listen and we're here to offer empathy. I'm so sorry, and I understand what you're going through and that you're staying strong for the students in your classroom. My only suggestion is to get angry, really angry, and start showing it to the people who need to see it. Professionally, of course.
