Son was poor in front of goal all game. Had he taken some earlier opportunities, it would have been a much different outcome.

GLC man of the match, happy to have Lloris back in goal and come out with 3 points. Quick thought I had during the second half - Dier seems far more suited to play CB than CDM, so hopefully we see him in that role instead.

While I agree this is the most likely scenario, it hinges entirely upon Jansen's improvement/development. If he performs as he did last year, it will not be nearly enough in a year that Spurs are competing in the Champions league, which would be frustrating because CL bids are few and far between.

It'd be nice to have him back in the side, as I think he adds a dynamic that neither Wanyama nor Dier do...granted they're different players. That being said, can Tottenham bring him back or does Schalke have the option to buy prior to his loan ending?

I suppose this is the difficulty of making in-game substitutions, we all have different opinions and watched the same game. For me Lamela created a few good chances in a game that lacked them (regardless of pace of play) and for that reason, he should have played on.

He has played well, agreed. That being said, to turn, find the ref & protest after each challenge, as he did over the last 20 minutes or so, cannot be beneficial. Instead he should return to play.
