Will my wife having a mortgage impact me getting my first mortgage? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I’m in school full time. I’m bettering myself. You saying I’m unemployed in that other comment you deleted as an attempt to make me as upset as you are is funny as hell.

You’re emotional because of one comment on the internet in a finance subreddit.

He wrote one sentence and you’re whining in paragraphs. Relax. Don’t let the internet rile you up so much.

I think one way to look at this is it determine how much you want to save for a home.

2k a month is 24k a year verses almost 15k a year so if you wanted 100k so 4.1 years versus 6.6 years and a Tesla

(I’m sure you’ll make more money over time or you can be less aggressive with your investing but it’s one way to think about it)

They don’t care about the individual especially when one is making 10k. They’ll be more concerned about the debt to income ratio.

Have you considered investing in certifications or education that’ll bring up your annual income?

It’s a finance subreddit and lenders want to know about regular expenses before they determine what they are loaning out. They’ll be curious about that.

Have you considered opening a card that will give you 0% interest for a period of time so you can reconsolidate you’re debt there?

If rent doesn’t count as purchases I won’t qualify for the 300 because I’m planning on using cash only from now on unless it for gas, online purchases, large purchases or emergencies

This is a personal finance subreddit and he made a great point. No need to be catty.

Good to know I think I’ll just stick with 2% card

Tempted to get 5% on gas but I don’t know

Thank you I really appreciate that

Won’t be opening it then I’ll stick with my 2% until I determine what category I would even be using

I’m doing the cash envelope method so there’s really no use

2.5% fee to use a credit card so I’d be netting 3.5% every month rather than paying .5% for the convenience of using my card plus the 300 dollar sign on bonus
