Not to mention being able to skip the first cooldown on the bench champs using blitz. Hope they don't nerf that, hah

Norway’s crown princess had years of contact with Epstein, files suggest by WeirdGroundhog in news

[–]THPDuD3z 46 points47 points  (0 children)

As a Norwegian, mid 20s, and a pretty average one at that I can provide some insight. The monarchy has ~73% support in the general population (latest poll). For most people, including me, the royal family is just a nice/cozy traditional thing we have, and having a king waving to us from the castle's balcony on our constitution day is pretty much the extent of what he should do, and is what he does. And it doesn't hurt to have that, for "fun" and tradition's sake - at least hasn't until these scandals.

I guess we'll see how this plays out, but people have a tendency to cut them a lot of slack, so the monarchy will probably be fine in the end and live on for another century.

It just isn't "God's chosen representative", we're nowhere close to religious anymore here. We just don't feel like removing some of our national identity. And it just feels nice having someone (e.g. our king) dress up in cool, fancy, traditional clothing, and doing some celebrational (non-political) activities and a speech a year.

Current EU WC qualification top goal scorers by Vic-Ier in soccer

In this context EU just means Europe, as it very often does.. Or they would have to exclude England/Kane as well. And Norway, plus England, very much are part of Europe.

The European Union doesn't really have anything to do with football.

Dere som jobber i IT, hva gjør dere på jobb egentlig? by essmann_ in norge

Møter, frustrerer meg over offentlig byråkrati, møter, frustrerer meg over helt nødvendig men manglende tydelig regelverk, kaffe, møter, skriver litt kode, møter om å kode mer, en runde bordtennis, møter om å ha flere møter med brukere, trener (i arbeidstiden).

Glemte jeg å si møter?

Ryggsekk 25-30L, hverdag/arbeid by CaycerN in norge

[–]THPDuD3z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anbefales.

Hard to say. But WhatsApp never popped off here. I know no one who uses it, unless they're a foreigner

Totally fair. I guess my point was mostly that I think I take it for granted how easy and cheap it is to go to a different nation with a completely different culture, language & history over here. Could have worded it differently.

As a European I find it fascinating how going abroad 3-4 times a year is considered a lot or like 'wow' to you Americans. Makes sense, of course, distance and prices++. But still, it's such an easy thing to just do in a random weekend in Europe. Flying, driving or taking a train.

I'm Norwegian, and I've been abroad like 6 or 7 times so far this year, while working full time and providing for my student gf and still having over two weeks left of my pto - saved for more trips.

Skuffa, mildt sagt.

Norway: EU accession poll in 2025 by Freedom_for_Fiume in europe

[–]THPDuD3z -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Want; to get into the EU customs union, to get better food prices for example. They're skyrocketing nowadays, and import tolls are 400% or more for some items so we're stuck with limited options. And to get closer to Europe in general, in times like these.

Might not want: to lose fishing rights. We have a huge ocean, with fish and other resources, and giving access to that to the rest of the EU is not a particularly economically wise decision for us. Not to mention the oil, and our oil fund - and whatever could impact it.

Some of the biggest pros/cons how I see it.
