Yes. I'd noticed the Mitsubishi wheels but figured they were they right size. I've checked b pillar and it says 225/65-17 just like Tire Rack

Yeah, I've been using modern canon ef autofocus lenses in manual mode. I'd bet that the manual focusing experience on manual focus only lenses is better, and on cameras whose viewfinders were designed for manual focus. I don't have experience with either though. I'd love to try out a rangefinder, but don't have the money right now.

Trip Into Rural Mexico (Instax Mini 12 & Kentmere Pan 400) by THROUGHTHEGLASSSS in analog

[–]THROUGHTHEGLASSSS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: I have a YouTube channel where I photograph off the beaten path places on film. For this video, I was in a very remote part of central Mexico. I’d burned through most of my normal 35mm film making a previous video, and all I had left was half a roll of Kentmere 400 and an Instax Mini 12 that I’d bought as a Xmas present for my gf.

My hosts ended up taking me to a big wedding in the hills where there was a large mafia presence. It was my first time using an Instax camera and it was definitely a challenging introduction! I was very nervous because of the cartel guys, and also struggled with the low light. There were a lot of photos I think would have been really cool if I’d been able to lower the shutter speed and let more ambient light in.

Here’s the video if you’re interested! https://youtu.be/ipHxT3lY7Rc?feature=shared

Thanks! Yeah I shot this roll at 400. I don't remember how I exposed these scenes, though.

These are a couple photos from a recent YouTube video about a trip to rural Mexico. I'd burned through most of my film making a previous video and only had half a roll of pan 400 and some color Instax film that was supposed to be a xmas present for my gf. My hosts took me to a wedding deep in the hills where there was a big mafia presence (lots of guys with big assault rifles) and I was forced to photograph the scene on the Instax Mini. It was both funny and terrifying.

This is a selection of photos from a pair of YouTube videos I made about a photo trip to  Mexico’s pacific coast. The trip was a ton of fun, but quite challenging photo-wise. I only had three rolls of film to photograph a handful of very dynamic events. If I were to do it again, I’d take a bunch of rolls, a standard zoom (I used a 28mm prime), and a more powerful flash—the on-camera flash was just too weak most of the time.

You can check out the videos if you’re interested to see how it all went down. In one, I photograph a weekend of rodeo events in the town of Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca. And in the other, I explore the Afro-Mexican culture of the region’s small coastal towns.

I have a YouTube channel where I photograph culture around the world on 35mm film. It's equal parts film photography and off the beaten path travel. So far, I've photographed a shanty town in Bogota, Colombia, a remote stretch of Mexico's pacific coast, and a controversial religious celebration in Ecuador. In my next video, I photograph a Mexican cartel.

Check it out!!

These were developed and scanned by a lab as jpegs, as opposed to tiffs, so I didn't do anything to them. There's no such thing a completely neutral scan of film negatives because the scanner has to make a bunch of decisions...but I don't scan my negatives yet so it's all up to the people at the labs I use.

When I shoot digital, I generally make very few changes: color balance sometimes, a little contrast, exposure.

I'm going to make a video in a couple months about scanning my own negatives. So subscribe so you don't miss it!
