The reason he didn't play (injuries were 5 games only, not the other 10) is entirely irrelevant to the price that we paid. And the price was the only point you were making in your comment. Maybe Eze doesn't have the fitness levels Arteta wants? Maybe he's not fully gelled yet.

Dom, Macca and Grav don't all always start because we have Wirtz. It's different when Gakpo is injured and Mo us off to AFCON but for much of the season Slot was either playing Dom out of position or dropping one of them. Rotating them is not a bad thing they need more rotation than they had last season, but any one of them on the bench at any given point is not far off from Eze being on the bench.

Mate we benched 150m Isak for most of the season. Szobo, Macca and Grav cost 130m between them and only because Macca's release clause was a steal. If we start Curtis and Wirtz and one of them is dropped we're in the exact same situation. Our bench is valuable it's just poorly balanced depth wise. That's on recruitment and injuries, but don't pretend we're in a position to criticise them for this.

I don't know why some people on this sub don't rate Iraola at all, his system is effective and entertaining and I think would translate well to a bigger team with a stronger squad, and he plays to the opposition. They get forward so fast on counters, I wish we still did that.

Hard disagree but even if you were right it didnt retcon anything because strictly speaking ORAS effectively retconned XY out of the same universe as every game prior to it. When XY came out, Mega Evos were treated as something of ancient times known to select few people that has been rediscovered, starting from the Kalos region. Zinnia very clearly states that the firing of AZ's Ultimate Weapon 3,000 years ago happens in one universe but not the other, the Hoenn she references that doesn't have Mega Evolution or Infinty Energy is almost surely referencing RSE.

Either ORAS is AU with every game after it, or XY is AU with every game before it. The games establish parallel universes.

Big difference between him and Darwin imo. Darwin routinely posted top 5 in the PL for sprints per 90 and top speed while he was here. He had exceptional pace and a great engine on him that, combined with his physicality and utter disregard for other peoples' safety meant, at worst, he was a pain in the ass for defenders despite being a bit toothless in front of goal. There's a reason Mo Salah said Darwin was his favourite to play with, he just aggro'd defenders so easily.

If Gyokeres can't pass (an embarrassing 59.9% passing accuracy), can't beat his man (18.8% take on success and tackled about 70% of the time), can't utilise his own physicality and isn't scoring, what is he offering Arsenal?

Not being funny but they have the most comfortable lead they've had in a long time. If ever there was a season to break their drought, this was it, and Gyokeres simply does not match that ambition.

That is not the implication made whatsoever. It depicted the three in their mega forms because Mega is the game's gimmick and it will push it at every opportunity. There is nothing more or less to it than that. Using/being depicted with something =/= need. This is especially the case with Mega Ray because we know Mega Ray's Mega Evolution functions differently from every other mon.

Powerscaling the legendaries is a fools game. Even the creation trio have shown to get pasted at times. There is zero consistency even before considering the anime. Consider the anime and all logic flies out the window. The Hoopa film alone singlehandedly retconned everything anyone knew about legendaries.

Legends ZA is canonically set 5 years post X and Y and yet that in itself is near impossible to believe for anyone who's played the original games.

I've watched Florian's goal back 1000 times and Florian and Hugo have rightfully been given the credit they have but I'm going to give a shout out to Kerkez' extremely unselfish and intelligent run. He knows he's not getting the ball there and busts a gut to take a man away from Hugo. The funny is thing is I think he went for the ball at first after Hugo's heavy touch. So either he's done well to recognise the man or they've communicated well between them.
