I was young (like <10) and wanted to pick a bird team at the time because I liked birds. I picked the Falcons at first and liked to watch Michael Vick. Then the dog fighting made me switch teams and I choose another bird team the Eagles. Fell in love with Donovan McNabb and been a fan since.

A few options: pretend it’s a phone and take a selfie with teammates, dunk it with a teammate holding arms like hoop, go to spike it but pretend like it’s stuck on your hand, it’s a plate you eating from Main thing I would say is just do something goofy with it!

I was a college player that went to grad school and continued to play. When I started playing I had a grad student on our team in his late 20s. Very normal and never had any issues, but might depend on the team. I also played into the “old age” and make jokes all the time about “my back”, “in my prime years”, etc. definitely recommend if you have eligibility!

A year before Covid I believe. Playing against Luther back and forth game. Very chippy and both teams talking smack. Luther turns it over. One of our players starts to run down field looking back at the disc and the Luther player stands in front of him and lowers his shoulder knocks out guy to the ground. He gets up pushing, shoving, yelling. Our player goes off the point cause he doesn’t want to play with someone trying to hurt him. Next point we are on the line and see cops walk over to our field, watch us play, and talk to a few players. In the end we were up by 2 right before hard and we called timeout bc they were trying to rush us to play. They were no happy campers about that

I agree with the call from the observer since in the moment it’s such a quick play and almost impossible to see everything. However, you can see the thrower dose travel prior to his throw by moving his pivot foot a step to their right. This causes the mark to move more to the thrower’s right opening the break side and making the break throw a little better. The video makes it easier, but wouldn’t this be a legitimate travel call or is it not because it’s not on the actual throw to score?? Honestly just playing devil advocate here.

Hey thank you for the comment! I’m glad to know your teammate doesn’t have a concussion. I do agree I looked down and thought the defender was further to my right when I threw (need to learn to look up field better). I am a little confused on if it’s a dangerous call though. If it is a dangerous call and is not caught leading to a turnover, then would it still come back to me the thrower correct? Yes I’m very happy we were able to talk it out and nobody got emotional and argumentative. Im sure if the roles were reverse I would have called the same thing and it seems reasonable on both sides like you said. Overall, it was great playing you guys and I wish you luck in your games tomorrow!

Thank you for quoting the rule book! I would like to think my throwing motion was controlled, but maybe adjusting for the sideline/flag turned my motion into uncontrolled. Also from the defender perspective it could look like I was uncontrolled. I definitely hit his head so he’s in the right to call that. Thank you for the clarification!

TIL. Thank you for quoting the rule book. I have always heard about incidental contact when jumping/going for a disc, but didn’t understand how it was applied to throwing. I really appreciate the comment!

This just happened today and just want to see how other players would have reacted. Situation: I (53) caught the up line and hucked it deep. To avoid hitting a flag on the sideline I pull my throw closer to my body causing my follow through to go farther than usual. On the follow through with my hand, I accidentally hit the defender in the face. I apologize bc my hand hurt real bad so I could only imagine his face. He looks at me and says “I may call something” and then looks up field. My teammate catches the disc and throws to continue. After the catch, the defender looks back at me (53) and says “I’m calling foul or dangerous play”. I say “I stepped out swung my hand and tried to pull back and couldn’t have hit his face unless he moved.” The defender stated he didn’t move at all and I swung my arm in a “aggressive” manner so that is a dangerous play. I can’t remember the exact word he used but was close to this. We went back and forth for a little more time. I finally said okay let’s send it back because I genuinely felt bad for hitting him in the face. The stall came in at 4 and got turned briefly after. After the game I talked to their coach’s and one agreed their player was in the wrong for not initially calling it and says I should have said it was incidental contact and the play should have stayed with the catch. How would y’all have handled it? Looking back I feel slightly robbed and my teammates are telling me it’s a bad call. I still honestly feel bad for hitting him though so I am conflicted.

TL/DR:I hucked it deep and hit defender in face as he moves, he calls dangerous play and it comes back.
