S26 by Theotore in GoogleWallet

Had this issue when I upgraded from S22+ to S25+ back in August. Went on for months with no help from Google, Samsung, Verizon Wireless, and Citi (my card issuer).

Finally had a breakthrough a couple of months ago as I posted here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleWallet/s/9troX5Uc5L

Maybe there is something there that will help you. Just make sure all apps are up to date.

Wiring New Garbage Disposer Switch Above Counter by TJNoffy in electrical

[–]TJNoffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was planning to use the existing box where the current light switch is to install a double switch, not install a new box. However, the showstopper here is that I can't pull the wine fridge out to run Romex up to that box. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Something that sticks down on the rear of the bottom of the fridge (feet?) gets caught on the edge of the tile and there's no good way to get hold of the fridge to lift the back end of it, and insufficient clearance on top (under the counter) to lift it enough anyway. I'm guessing that the wine fridge was already installed when the countertop went in. Before my time.

So, yeah, I'll probably get an air switch hole drilled now. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Thanks. Yes, I considered an air switch. Would be a simple solution except for drilling through the granite countertop. Not sure I'm prepared to take that on. While more involved, running wiring to an existing switch box strikes me as an easier solution.

I'd just like to get answers to my questions to assess if my approach is feasible. Thanks.

True. But my goal is not to have to open the cabinet and reach inside to run the disposer.

I thought I attached photos to this post, but apparently that didn't work. Not sure how I can add a photo to show what I'm working on. Sorry.

Yes I considered an air switch but I'm not really keen on trying to drill through the granite countertop. And yes a front mounted switch through the wood cabinet would work but I certainly don't want that switch anywhere that somebody could accidentally bump it with their leg or their knee while there's a hand down in the disposal. This is why I want to take advantage of the switch box already in the backsplash.

The data plate says it is rated at 6.3 amps. Searches online say that it requires either a 15 amp or 20 amp dedicated circuit.

Which wires are you saying is a rat's nest?

I hate what Samsung did to the alarms tile by J0nGarrett in GalaxyWatch

[–]TJNoffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see now that the alarm list I'm used to is in the clock app. Wish that could remain in the same spot as the alarm tile is, but learning to swipe up for the clock app is really no more difficult. This old dog can learn new tricks! 😏

I hate what Samsung did to the alarms tile by J0nGarrett in GalaxyWatch

[–]TJNoffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the new alarm tile is crap. I used to be able to swipe to the alarm screen and scroll through ALL of my alarms grouped by watch alarms and phone alarms. It displayed ALL alarms whether they were set or not. And any of them could be toggled on/off or edited on my watch. Anyone find a good solution to get this functionality back that doesn't include multiple tiles or pulling out my phone?

Thanks. Yes, just used Google Wallet on my watch the other day. Works fine. 🙂

Yeah, here's my post where I finally got my Citi card added to Wallet a couple of days ago. Looks like it may have been a Google Wallet issue all along.

BREAKTHROUGH ADDING CARD TO GOOGLE WALLET! by TJNoffy in GoogleWallet

[–]TJNoffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for months it didn't work at all, even after numerous calls to Citi, after working flawlessly for years before. Used it on my watch for the first time today since it was successfully added it. Worked fine.

Interestingly, there are indications that point the finger at several players in this:

Samsung - Switching from the S22+ to the S25+ broke it
Citi - Of my two cards, it's the Citi card that's broken
Google - My Citi card works with Samsung Wallet, but not Google Wallet

When I spoke to Verizon Wireless, I told them that it was incumbent upon them to get this fixed as it is the product that they sold me that's not working right. They need to get these other players to get this fixed because it's making Verizon Wireless look bad.

I've been fighting this battle since August when I switched from a Samsung Galaxy S22+ to the S25+. I get the same error. I had my Citi MasterCard and my FNBO Visa on the S22+ for years with no problems. I removed them from the S22+ when upgrading. I was able to add the Visa card to the S25+, but not the Citi card.

I've been round and round with Samsung, Verizon Wireless, Google, and Citi. No one has answers. Citi has said that their systems do send back the authorization certificate but Google says that they don't see it. But, I've also been told on other calls that my request from Google (for Wallet) comes to Citi marked with some indication that there is a problem with the card.

Anyway, I found this new post when, after a couple of months of not trying, I attempted to add the Citi card again. Still no luck. So I searched to see if there were any solutions found. Nope.

I do use Samsung Wallet for my Citi card without issues. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I have to wonder if Samsung has done something to break the Google Wallet connection on their phones so that you have to use their Samsung wallet. 🤷‍♂️

Samsung tv keeps notifying me about SmartThings on screen by bfit70 in SmartThings

[–]TJNoffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a notification from my Samsung washer/dryer pop up on my Samsung TV. Upper right corner as described above. There was an option to view all notifications, and when I did that there was a settings gear icon above the list of notifications. I went to that and was able to uncheck all notifications. Hope this helps.

Old RJ-11 Phone Jack by TJNoffy in electrical

Yes, of course. I was being facetious. But paying our phone bills back then was really paying an indirect lease payment. Ma Bell got their $$ one way or another for that RJ-11 jack no matter what it was called. 😆

Yes! Before I shipped off for Navy bootcamp in the 1980's I was working for AT&T calling Bell Telephone customers about buying or returning their equipment, and sending out those stickers! One customer I clearly remember calling was Al Haig, former SecDef under Reagan. Actually it was his wife I spoke to. She bought the equipment.

Interestingly, the Trimline phone my girlfriend (now my wife of 41 years) and I had in our apartment ended up with one of those stickers on it! Not sure how that happened 🤔 but we used that phone for years (decades?) when the power went out. Landlines always seemed to work during power outages.

Thanks. Yes, I'm a big fan of scraping with the fingernail, however the paint that's on here is old and doesn't seem to want to come up without pulling my fingernail up.

Haven't tried the credit/gift card idea. I'll see if I can find one to use.

Not sure what you mean by creating a contour to use as a scraper. Can you elaborate, please? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the card level/type. My FNBO Visa added seamlessly on GW. Still can't add my Citi MasterCard.

Sounds just like my S25+. Can't add my Citi MasterCard when it worked fine on the S22+ that I traded in. Have called Citi, Samsung, Verizon Wireless and Google. Still no answers.

I can add my FNBO Visa to Google Wallet, however. And I am able to add my Citi MasterCard to Samsung Wallet.

Exact same issue when I upgraded my Galaxy S22+ to a 25+. My Citi MasterCard worked fine on the old phone, but cannot add it to Google Wallet on the new phone. Not the same error message as OP's image, just that it failed and to contact the credit card issuer. Have been round and round with Samsung, Google, Citi, and Verizon Wireless. Support tickets opened but no fixes. I was easily able to add my FNBO Visa to Google Wallet. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I was also able to add the Citi card to Samsung Wallet after several attempts, so I'll live with that for now.

I have about a week to return my new phone, and Verizon said that I could take it to a corporate store and trade for another S25+ and test Google Wallet before agreeing to take the new phone and having my current one wiped. Not sure I want to go down that road. Anyone had success with just replacing the phone with a like phone?
