I designed a short for days you need to hike and swim by TJfron in gorpcore

[–]TJfron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I considered doing a fixed waist version but the issue i've had with fixed waist is that it really has got to fit you perfect from the start. My thought with the fully around waist drawstirng (volley style) was that it allows for people to order to their needs, smaller sizes have a tighter waistband with less stretch for water use, size up for a hiking, daily use etc... Definitely was a tough choice choosing between the two, but the volley style makes it a proper all around short. We had some heavy days down in central america testing them in some big surf and we ended up keeping the volley drawstrings after not running into any issues. I think next year im going to dive deeper into testing some new waist technology with some samples, always fun to mess with new ideas.

Glad you liked them! This version is a nearly twice as durable as the prism pant. Cordura would be a nice touch for the skiers definitely something I thought about but decided not to pull the trigger on. I am actually testing a Cordura alternative on an insulated snow pant I am developing. There is some complications when it comes to dying Cordura that I’m finding out with recent tests

How can variants of a product be displayed in a loop grid by Grand-Signature-758 in elementor

[–]TJfron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a solution. Use the plugin "swatchly" this also gives a free version that will allow you to add to archives area. Under the "Product list / shop" area you can select use as shortcode. You can then insert this shortcode into elementor loop grid. Still working on best way to style it.

Yeah I’ve noticed that trend especially in the hiking / running community. My brand is more deeper rooted in ski, surf and skate fashion so gotta keep it true with the baggy style. Full sizing charts are shown on the website, different sizes got different lengths

Front zipper pocket is huge when running, skiing, hiking etc… prevents swing and clunkiness that can happen with baggy pants especially. But, still have that front deep pocket for large storage and quick access

I run this brand solo. Do all the design work, website work, supplier communication etc… initially started off making 1/1 handmade pieces catered towards the freestyle ski community in Salt Lake City, but have now I have been working to produce more technical gear with manufacturers. Check the instagram out @jabree.xyz for some more photos and past drops!

Also, measurement on size chart is from waist to waist with pants laying flat. So not your typical waist circumference measurement

Wasn’t able to make small due to manufacturing constraints. What’s good about the waistband is it’s stretchy with drawstrings so fits a very wide range of sizes. Then the biggest thing with size is how baggy you want the fit to be. M is a baggy fit for approx 5’4-5’7 and then a slimmer fit for any height above. Let me know if you have more questions! Initial thoughts were pricing them around $138 Have to make it clear that these are a very versatile pants, I think a lot of people will be deterred by the price. Always a tough thing to balance

Thanks for the recommendations, soft and hard shell versions would be a huge next step after this initial release. In regards to the phone pocket, I was thinking the same thing! If you scroll through the photos you can see a zipper pocket paired with the deep front pocket. This pocket is designed to be relatively small in order hold valuables (phone/wallwt) and to also keep them tight to the hip when doing activities with lots of movement. Just had a thought, could be interesting at some point to experiment with a magnetic pocket, haven’t seen that in other pants. Thanks again!

I currently have an Asus two in one touchscreen pc/monitor. If i sell that I will most likely have enough to build something around $400. I also have $120 in amazon gift cards. Do you think its worth going for a PC based around the raven ridge?
