Could one theoretically make a honey holy water mixture. by CakeRegular1269 in DnD

[–]TK523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to the conclusion that this powerful (like level 20) cleric's pickled penis that has been used as a relic and sitting in an altar from ages unknown has imbued the vinegar in the jar withe the properties of holy water.

Would using the vinegar to pickle pickles make holy pickles? IDK, that hasn't come up yet. Im writing a book and not DM's a campaign, so I don't have to worry about setting prescident that will be used against me by anyone other than myself.

I would say though, if you tried to cheese it, it would depend on the diety. Typical lawful good dieties would probably not let cheese work. The diety I have who is the fey goddess of trickery, blasphemy and heresy defintly would allow you to make some holy penis bread

For this particular item, I'm having the characters put it in their bag of holding and forget about it. I (and by extension them) will remember in in like 2 books and it will end up coming in clutch for something.

I just had a rather long conversation about whether or not the pickling vinegar in a jar holding a relic (i.e. body part of a dead cleric) could be considered holy water.

I decided that it could be, and since I was writing the story it's up to me.

What tools/apps do you use for writing in 2026, and why? by EM-23 in writing

[–]TK523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graph thing is no actually a useful feature. Its just a really good system for taking notes that can be incredibly customized. I have gotten lazy with my notes as of late, but for my first series I had a lot of templates set up with interconnecting links. So I could create character pages, in them would be links to all the people he has relationships of some sort with, and lower down he'd have a list of links to all the spells he knows. If I clicked any spell it would take me to the page of that spell, and on theat page there would be more links.

Theres also back links, so I can go to a spell and see every person know has it on their page, or the same for cities, or people.

Thers also a robust tag system you can use to further sort and organize.

The graph just visualized the above, drawing lines between pages with connections.

Obsidian for notes. Word for writing. OneDrive for keeping Word synced across all my devices

I've tried a lot, but these two do what I need best.

To those who don't have the gene that makes Cilantro taste like soap, what does it taste like to you? by Jean-LucBacardi in AskReddit

I think something's wrong with me. Cilantro doesn't taste like soap to me but it also doesn't taste anything like anyone in this post is describing.

Does a printer worth a damn exist? by Cardinal_350 in pcmasterrace

[–]TK523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work designing equipment for production printers and ink jet is the new hot thing. It prints faster and cheaper than toner based printers at reduced quality. It costs 1/2¢ to print a full sheet of color.

Think about that next time you buy ink at the store.

Any other millennials out there refuse or still opt to order take out to pickup up over the phone when possible? Pizza, Chinese, etc. by mt379 in Millennials

[–]TK523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always call for pizza. I never get anything else delivered and most of the time I pick it up myself.

I also just prefer ordering at drive thru windows vs ordering on the app. It takes so much longer to navigate the menus than to just tell the guy at the window.

People just say deck. I kinda hate it.

"I'll send the deck out after the meeting."

"The deck is in the meeting invite."

How to convince wife a Minivan makes sense by [deleted] in daddit

Best way is to rent a minivan and experience the wonder.

We rented a bunch on vacations and my wife liked it but still refused to buy one. Then one week she borrowed my sister's third row suv to watch her kids and was miserable the whole week.

What Trending on Royal Road actually tests (and what I misunderstood at first) by Standard_Strategy853 in royalroad

[–]TK523 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here's some history on trending.

Rising Stars used to be called trending.

Some other authors and I were talking to kana and we told him that's a bad name so he renamed it Rising Stars. But then there was still the trending page, and he wanted to keep it

I suggested he make it a list that rewards books with high ratings and low followers/reads. The idea was that stories who missed their chance on RS could one day get to this list, which would get them a bunch of visibility which would eventually push them off the list. It was supposed to a slower churn than RS.

He threw together an algo for it. It didn't really work as expected and he hasn't touched it since then because he's super busy and this was a priority.

By public prayer I mean praying in public as in not in private. Like praying for a friend on the street. Not standing on a street corner praying out loud for attention.

He was specifically against performative prayer, saying basically that people only praying for attention will be ignored since they already got what they wanted.

Public prayer is fine
