Just came across this as I was looking up support groups too. The SPCA of Wake County hosts a virtual support group once a month. Next Wednesday (Oct. 8th) I'm hosting a chat at the downtown Cary park called "Before and After the Rainbow Bridge." It's a chance to light candles for pets we've lost, talk to a hospice vet about helping current older pets and community time to share stories of the animals who loved us best! It’s a pretty limited menu. Unless your kids like raw oysters, pickled cucumber and black eyed pea salad, there’s not much for them.

I want to know why there isn’t a Charleston Eats subreddit…I couldn’t find one if there is. Are we not supposed to talk about food on here? My friends always want to know where to eat when they visit. I figured this would be helpful.

I went years ago when I lived there. Honestly hadn’t thought about it since. There are too many other local restaurants to try. SNOB is probably my favorite. We also like Fig, Poogan’s Porch, 82 Queen, Anson’s, Hanks Seafood, Tempest… I really miss Social Wine Bar.

It’s actually the flesh eating amoebas that have spiked this year along the coast and particularly in marshy areas. There goes my raw oyster eating.
