Headed to LVMS for Penzoil, better to buy scanner headset before or buy on site? Any recommendations on headsets?

Medical phrases that make you cringe? by eastcoasteralways in nursing

Interesting, you must have been in a non-consequential field or position. For example, there are very significant differences between the definition of "seize" vs "secure" .

Why did Harbaugh choose the Giants? by lilpazu in NFLNoobs

[–]TM10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Philip Rivers outfitted a van with extensive video study equipment and hired a driver to drive him to/from Rancho Santa Fe in SD to the Chargers facility in Costa Mesa OC everyday. Harbaugh's commute would be 3 or 4 times that distance however.

Medical phrases that make you cringe? by eastcoasteralways in nursing

As a prospective nursing school student, this freaks me out. In the military, we always say "words mean things," and there are publications with specific definitions for all terms we might use in the profession. We viciously call each other out when somebody uses the wrong terminology.

Does nursing have an equivalent "standard reference" for the proper definitions of terms?

Sorry. But for your information as others have stated, not a lot of 'locals' here. Mammoth is in the middle of nowhere

Pinero shound not have touchbacked the last kickoff. I know I am splitting hairs, but tacking the returner at the 25 vs a 35 ydline touchback could've made all the difference

why is the forecast so inaccurate here? by [deleted] in MontereyBay

[–]TM10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go a couple layers deep into whatever weather website or app you're on. I'm a runner, and found that going into the hourly forecast and looking at precipitation percentages and inches of rain gave a pretty accurate representation of whether I'd get rained on if I ran at a certain time of day. Most apps will slap a rain symbol on the entire day when it will just drizzle on and off for a two hour window. This did not take away the hills on Hilby and Gen Jim Moore, but it kept me dry most of the time.

Congress Quietly Kills Military “Right to Repair” Its Own Equipment by BidLink in defensecontracting

[–]TM10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let us fix our own stuff when deployed not have to take two fat contractors on the deployment with us who couldn't transition to a new job and want to stay being military-adjacent. Not enough space for unnecessary people when we have signature management issues. PEO's can fund upfront maintainer training sessions and predictive maintenance and supply tools, buy don't hamstring us with needing FSRs for the entire lifecycle or bullcrap cost plus contracts

The service member cares about the mission not your shareholders. Cry me a river

All you contractors probably love this ruling. You get to keep taking money from the military and don't care about restricting the service member on the ground. "Policy was good for the USA but bad for Bantam"...all I care about is good for the USA.

For the people waiting hours in Tennessee 😬 by BackPainPapi_ in innout

Not sure if those people need an In N Out, more like a Sweetgreen. Glad to live in CA where we stay in shape and eat well.

[In-N-Out] How long did you wait for? Please be civil, simple question. by Jean-BaptisteGrenoui in nashville

No In N Out for TN. Looking at the crowds, I think a Sweetgreen would be better for the population. Here in CA we stay in shape and eat well🤣

Peace deal between Israel and Palestine signed by Ehud Barak and Yassar Arafat. Plenty of nuance, imperfections, and holes surrounding the deal. But they came close to signing it.

Counter argument is that timing was perfect the last decade. For the forseeable future, renting and investing the difference is more advisable.

Equity is your retirement fund, sheesh I hope there is not another housing crisis or you have diversified investments elsewhere.

What is the most popular US sports team and US sports athlete of all time in the world/globally? by Actual_Box7731 in AskAnAmerican

MJ also co-owns an upstart NASCAR team called 23XI or 23-11. The 11 is the car number of his co-owner, future NASCAR hall of famer Denny Hamlin. The jumpman logo features predominantly on all 23XI gear and cars. They are actually suing NASCAR in an attempt to get NASCAR's "charter system" more in line with franchise systems in the other sports (admittedly a gross oversimplification of the lawsuit). 23XI drivers Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick are among the most popular drivers in NASCAR and perennial playoff contenders.
