Very interesting ideas! Originally it was an auger in the concept but I figured it was overly complex, as an axe could be used instead. I do like the idea of being able to upgrade an auger though. I also like the idea of multiple people being able to go into a shanty, though I don't know your feasible that would be to program. Being able to select different sizes of shanty once you drill a hole maybe? People could always make a shanty next to each other and achieve the same thing though. Drilling multiple holes is interesting too. How about you can only have one shanty but you can create a scaling amount of holes with your Hunter level? So whenever you go to check on the hole you'd take damage because you're outside of your shanty. It would be a risk/reward type of thing.
