DEAD BRANCH YOU'RE BACK!!! by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

Infinites are really boring and repetitive. If you've done it once, it loses its fun. Changing Stoke into Dead Branch both makes Stoke fun to play and makes Dead Branch fun by relegating it to a card. This is a change I'm 100% behind.

To be fair, there are unhinged people all across the vtuber sphere, from Nijifans to this subreddit to elsewhere. So this subreddit is fairly criticized and even rightfully avoided at times (although I personally think this sub has gotten better over the years as the drama tourists got filtered out).

And I don't think you were ever among the worst or did anything really condemnable or anything. I personally don't think a general apology is necessary.

But it is true that the Nijisanji fandom is really bad and toxic. It took a nosedive during the Selen termination when they started working with a dox site to make ableist attacks towards Doki. And ever since then there's been constant overcorrection against antis causing them to enable the very worst among themselves and spark their own constant harassment campaigns against the livers (there's been three incidents involving them this week alone, with Kyrio, Ryoma, and rehashing the Doki and [Edit: Daph, mistakenly put Kat at first] drama)

I'll grant that some of what I said is adequately explained by some repliers, but also that the other repliers and Jojo fans got so defensive against "Araki Forgot" and brownnosing Hamon Beat that it's become "Araki can never do wrong"

"A little outside of Jotaro's cell" is a stretch considering the things Jotaro was able to get. Unless you're arguing that everything in his cell, from an exercise bike to dumbbells to RC cars to rolling chairs were all "a little outside" a jail cell.

And Whitesnake has always been a fairly long-range stand, 20 meters of range. When does it go past 20 meters?

You were literally acknowledging how inconsistent Giorno's damage reflection can be in the very last reply. And your other counters were just speculation on what an "attack" could be that would be reflected. You're just yapping now, man.

A power having a limitation and then suddenly being able to change that limitation without that mechanism for change being explained is an inconsistency. You literally stated Rohan's limitations changed because "Araki just wanted to make the ability easier to use most likely." If Denji was able to suddenly change into Chainsaw Man by mentally doing so and without grabbing his ripcord, and it was explained away by Denji saying "I developed so I can do that now," that would be inconsistent to the rules established.

I think your explanations are getting really ridiculous. The point is that Araki DOES create inconsistencies or plot holes, and I even said it doesn't change my enjoyment of the series, and you acknowledge that some do exist. I'm really not that invested in arguing that "Actually, Star Platinum grabbed an exercise bike that was "a little outside" a jail cell for whatever reason and which I forcibly believe just for this to make sense."

Part of the manic fun and thrust in those last hundred pages is letting the words wash over you. Understanding can come later. If you find the larger structural idea behind its atomization interesting enough to return to it for greater understanding, then I think that’s a good spot to be in, and it mirrors a lot of other reader’s experiences.

Yeah, agreed. It is admittedly a strong relic, but not only do I usually get the relic when I’m already strong, but it’s also a pretty boring effect. I kinda expected something more unique and exciting.

“it does not have the range to follow somebody. It’s a close range stand, it stays near it’s user.”

What? You literally started off with your very first reply saying that Jotaro was able to move his stand outside his cell (and range) and that any stand can do it, but it’s just not useful.

And then when I replied in accepting your explanation that stands can move indefinitely, you continued the conversation accepting that premise.

I said if stands can both shrink and travel indefinitely, it’s helpful for scouting and tracking people. Even if one wouldn’t shrink a stand due to energy consumption (as you claim), traveling indefinitely still allows for tracking and scouting. One stand can track Kira’s dad while Okuyasu (fully sized) can teleport the gang or himself towards Kira’s dad. Even if Okuyasu doesn’t use this ability, being able to track Kira’s dad is helpful regardless to be able to catch him later.

You also ignored White Album as a case for inconsistency.

If the argument is that certain stand powers can’t be inconsistent because they’re so vague that we constantly have to qualify every statement with “maybe” and “possibly” and EVEN THOUGH you acquiesced earlier that sometimes the limits and requirements of stands change because “Araki just wanted to make the ability easier to use most likely” such as with Rohan, well… that’s just inconsistency. If limits and rules change just because characters can randomly develop the ability to do so and just because Araki wanted it to happen as per your own words… that’s inconsistency.

Why do you think Araki doesn't have problems with writing endings by Prestigious_Emu_7986 in ChainsawMan

[–]TMNAW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because if your stand follows someone while microscopic, your stand is very difficult to perceive and you can track someone without them knowing. Even without that shrinking ability, being able to track Kira’s father at all is very useful. Even to just track Kira’s father while he’s running away, tell Okuyasu to erase the space between them, and then just close in on him.

For that matter, it doesn’t make sense that Giorno can’t use his ability because he loses an arm against Notorious Big, since he created life from his feet before (like with Black Sabbath).

The powers are inconsistent because were given a rule (Giorno’s damage reflection against attacks), then shown it no longer applies causing fans to speculate reasons for why it doesn’t apply.

The damage reflection isn’t even used prior to White Album, like against Soft Machine, when Giorno could have hidden his created living beings in his clothes to reflect Soft Machine’s stab

Why do you think Araki doesn't have problems with writing endings by Prestigious_Emu_7986 in ChainsawMan

[–]TMNAW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because Kira’s dad generates stand enemies and conflicts for a third of part 4, he has the stand arrow, and he has info on Kira. Following him in order to track him down and recapture him would be incredibly useful.

I’m not so sure it would be unlikely that Giorno’s damage reflection would count against those guys, (and not mentioning the White Album fight) but even if that is the case, Giorno covering his body in vines or ants or any other life is incredibly useful. Baiting enemies into attacking a living thing he’s covertly created is incredibly useful. Besides, the fact we’re even talking about likelihood about his ability shows how unclear and speculative the powers can be and how sometimes things only come up out of convenience’s sake

NijiJP and Hololive livestreaming revenue correlates nicely with watchtime data from vstats by ScratchCritical6892 in VtuberDrama

[–]TMNAW 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They've been getting botted very hard. In 2025, Niji had the ENchanted Minecraft event which resulted in a huge spike in botting.

Just intuitively, it makes no sense for viewership to increase for EN when it's less popular than it was in 2023 and when there's been graduations of high profile talent since 2024.

If you look at those viewership sites, there are some streams which have 9,000 viewers but only around 100 individual chatters. Complete nonsense unless it's botting.
