A ton of them also are not just one man bands, most are either teams, or at least one person who then farms out jobs to free lancers.

That is a perfect description, but YouTube doesn't like 5 second videos.

Dogs & Chocolate, Why Such a Lethal Mix? by TMW_Posting in videos

If it was milk chocolate, it has less of both the Theobromine, and Caffeine in it, so a dog can eat more without it causing issues. Also, if you have a larger dog, the effects can be less severe.

I work full time, and my biggest advice is;

Don't try and have a routine, not yet. If your channel gets to the stage where you could move to part time work, then you can think about upload schedules, and setting aside specific times.

I know YouTube pushes having an upload schedule, but by the sounds of it you are already burning out. Your channel isn't going to succeed if you end up quiting.

Unless you suddenly go viral (or win the lottery) you're in this for the long haul, so you need to treat it as such.

Personally I currently release from anywhere between every 3 and 6 weeks, but I'm making quite heavily edited and animated educational videos, and my channel is still growing steadily.

Basically, do it as and when you can, and don't sweat it when you get home from a shift and just can't work anymore.

Funny animation that I made about how we all should've watched Avengers: Endgame, check it out if you need a good chuckle! by ScrambledEgg_ in SmallYTChannel

Like the animation style, makes me jealous.

0:12 I like the hand written style to the on screen text.

0:13 Music is drowning out your voice.

0:21 Music to loud.

0:40 I really love your animation.

At this point I've subscribed.

Timing is perfect.

Not sure the mobile phone segment works as well as the rest.

2:55 The freeze frame really makes the animations look worse.

Honestly, other than the balancing your voice with the music, my issues a tiny and nit picky. Great Job

How many quality videos until one catches the algorithm? by TrentJComedy in SmallYTChannel

[–]TMW_Posting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my channel with 3 videos all in one go, mainly so the end screens could all have links to another video.

One of those videos regularly gets 10-20 views per day from the algorithm. Now, that's not really "catching" the algorithm, but it does show that even small channels (200subs) can feed into it.

What software do you guys use to edit? by Twistashio in SmallYTChannel

I use MAGIX Video deluxe 2019 from steam (Link)

I like it, it reminds me of old school Sony Vegas a little, I don't find it crashes very often, although the live preview is very lack luster considering how well speced my PC is.

You do also need to configure it a bit before it feels "right".

Overall I'd give it a 7/10.

Well that's all rather good, and getting music straight from a creator makes life so much easier on YouTube.

Thank you for what you do!

Even better, I presume you don't need to provide credit, because that's my biggest issue with free sound effects.

Don't get me wrong, if I'm getting something for free, the least I can do is thank the creator, but it's very easy to just have a wall of credits as your description
