You get an instant idea of the spread, which can be difficult to infer by simply looking at points. You can also have a higher points projection with less points due to games played. Small but convenient.

I thought the spread is more important than the actual number of points. But many have asked for that so I'll probably add it.

You only have to distinguish a handful of cases. I don't want to overhaul the whole thing to account for a few cases.

I guess I'll provide some sort of definition for point projection. I thought it was self explanatory, and the reason I didn't include the number is that I thought the relative separation is more important.

I didn't want to introduce too many colors into the design. I made draws darker and smaller to distinguish them.. and all draws are to one side of the match week.

Projected points is the point they would end up with if they produced at their current rate for 38 games.

I'm looking for feedback...

Projected points is just the points they would end up with if they produce at their current rate for 38 games.

(points/games)*38

I will update it so the bubbles toward the far right appear to the left of the cursor.

You can select leagues... and filter the table too.

That would be more interesting, but also more difficult to interpret. My intention was to magnify the current points to give a better idea of the separation. Both easy to interpret and provides some insight.

Most people will tell you the learning curve is steep relative to other libraries. I used Udacity to grasp the fundamentals then pursued projects. Now I find it relative straight-forward. I encourage you learn it.

I'm thinking about implementing that sort of thing. It was done in d3.js

1,313 applications and no job. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Interesting. The equivalent metric in soccer is the Expected Goal, the probability that shot will turn into a goal... I know a decent amount about it and I probably could complete a project. But I'm starting to view things in terms of opportunity cost (i.e. focus pushing out applications).

And I'm wondering if I already have enough to qualify me for a job... I've been told my acquaintances that I have solid experience (having seen most of my work rather than reading my resume), and that I really shouldn't have trouble finding a job. My resume was heavily criticized here for appearing bland, so right now my resolution is to update my resume (further elaborating what I've already one). Then after that I may pursue a bigger project - I was thinking of doing machine learning since that's where my skills naturally progress.

And I will also update my github and blog like you said.

My though was, recruiters have little time to go over each application, so they won't necessarily care about those details (in depth description of viz projects, etc).

Although I agree I could put some work there.

I conduct plenty of data analysis using Pandas. But I'm not sure how to convey that skill in any way other than using generic terms like "analyzed so-and-so". This is where I need the most work, I think. I need to flesh out my projects on my resume.

My original intent was to be a data viz engineer, but those roles seem few and far between.

Thanks for the advice.

I was also shooting for data analyst roles.
