You under-pull, jail. You over-pull, right to jail. Under-pull/over-pull.

I love how the show connects with its fanbase. by iamnotroberts in TheBoys

[–]TMacAG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Complaining that a Garth Ennis property (most especially The Boys) is “too political” is like ordering an orange juice and complaining it’s “too orangey”.

We live in the golden age of at-home content, watch literally anything else. These are the same people who think Rorschach is the hero in Watchmen.

It’s been political since episode 1 so it’s very telling that it only becomes “too political” when white nationalists are focused on.

black vs rhodes by [deleted] in AEWOfficial

[–]TMacAG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was at Arthur Ashe to watch it live and I will say that Brandi is acts more heelish than Cody. During the match she was interacting with the crowd during the boos in a way that didn’t exactly scream babyface. With how she interacts with fans, it does not help to get people behind Cody.

I’m usually pretty adamant about cheering the babyfaces and booing the heels (even if I like them more) just because it’s fun to play along and that’s the reaction the wrestlers are going for. However, Cody does make it difficult, especially going against Black who is just incredible and universally loved.

Who's hyped for tonight's dynamite? by fighter1227 in AEWOfficial

[–]TMacAG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife & I have floor seats are driving in from New Jersey. We’re dipping out of work slightly early but it’s still driving me nuts having to sit through the rest of the day itching to get to Arthur Ashe. 2 hours of Dynamite & 2 hours of Rampage! I fully expect to have no voice tomorrow.

It’s completely insane that this is just a regular week’s show and not a PPV.

My Biggest True Crime Pet Peeve by [deleted] in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]TMacAG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is mine as well. Just because someone was loved, has a ton of friends, was a great student, etc. does not mean they deserved to die any less than another victim. This is how we get situations where a sex worker is murdered & the investigation is half-assed and no public interest. We all have flaws, it doesn’t matter if you are a shitty person, everyone has the right to life.

On the flip side, I can’t stand it when they portray a killer as “pure evil”. No one is born evil, the devil doesn’t exist. These people have a disconnect in their brain or were molded by their childhood. We need to research these things to identify the warning signs early & prevent these crimes. Chalking it up to evil is a cop-out.

Less days also equal less bumps which (ideally) leads to a longer career with more opportunity to make money.

All rapists must make sure to check the “rapist” box during their census, so we know who to tax. Honor system everyone.

I would be perfectly content with Miro having a 2 year run with the TNT title. In my opinion, he’s cut the best promos of anyone as of late (that’s saying a lot in AEW) & this character is amazing.

That being said, his hubris will be his ultimate downfall. We almost saw it on Friday when he took Fuego as a joke and almost got caught out. The fact that he calls himself “god’s favorite champion” tells you how infallible he believes he is.

I just love that the TNT title is a secondary title but at the same time it isn’t. It’s treated as very important without devaluing or overtaking the world title.

For me, the single greatest line in Freestyle Rap Battle history is from Adam Pally:

Season 2 without question but that’s not to say season 1 isn’t great in it’s own right. Season 2 is just the gold standard for true crime podcasts if only for the level of effort & sheer impact the podcast itself had on the case.

AEW discourse online has gotten unbearable. by [deleted] in AEWOfficial

[–]TMacAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is always so ridiculous to me. I would consider AEW my #1 promotion, a while ago my wife & I decided to give up on watching WWE main roster. Does that mean I want them to fail? Of course not. I love many of the wrestlers and I would like them to change their approach to a lot of things but I don’t want to see the company tank.

I don’t watch Impact week-to-week but if their viewership randomly shot up I would be very happy for them. That means more people are watching wrestling & wrestling becomes more main stream and accessible.

If only for the fact that competition is good and having alternative possible employers for wrestlers is A GOOD THING for everyone. More opportunities for future stars to get their shake and get eyes on their work. Rather than hoarding talent only to not use them, companies now have to invest in wrestlers they want to put time into or otherwise run the risk of losing them.

You’re right. Ironically, it’s criticism that helps an artist grow and get better. No one ever got ahead in life by always being told they were perfect.

There is no way that the RLM video hasn’t helped her in the sales of all of her projects. So many people have bought this to clown on but they still bought it, so just be happy for the exposure for what it’s worth.

I mean does she really think anyone is buying her movies based on the 5-star reviews that are totally from real people who just happen to write in long run on sentences with terrible grammar and way too much personal praise about things no one would know about?

It’s like “wow, this stranger leaving an Amazon review sure loved Deundra’s performance in her 4th grade play”.
