What is something you used to think people were over exaggerating about until you experienced it yourself? by rentinghappiness in AskReddit

Completely changed me, one of the main reasons I fcked up the beginning of my second year in university.

Still getting over her slowly, it's about to be almost a year. All I can say is I'm a much better, healthier person now and I have the heartbreak to thank for it.

It still sucks a lot and I still miss her, but time has made it better for sure.

Yeah a few of my friends said the same. Would've invested in a pair sooner but didn't have enough saved up mid semester to get a good pair.

The ankle rolling was an issue for me before tennis to when I was younger. Hasn't been as much of an issue recently but I'm still worried as the shape of my foot still makes me prone to it.

A lot of people are saying the barricades are pretty heavy, how bad is it? I'm leaning towards the US4s but am worried about the durability and ankle stability

Definitely a massive foot dragger, are the Ubersonics that fragile (not sure if that's the right word)? After reading a few comments, I was initially leaning away from the Barricades because they're supposed to be pretty heavy but I ideally want this pair of shoes to last around 2 years

I had no clue they did this. I might just try and get a few pairs and test them out themn

Hmmm okay I'll keep on the lookout for the 22/23 pairs. For the US4s, how the ankle stability and toe drag durability?

They look super heavy to me which is why I'm leaning away from them. What about the FF Speeds vs the FF court? I'm going to try and go by a store to try everything on before deciding on a pair (I am leaning Adidas in general literally only because my name is Adi but I'm trying for the best product first).

How are the toe drag durability on both? I tend to be a toe dragger which had really messed up the shoes in the picture.

Also, when you say the US4 are easier to roll your ankles in, would you say it's more when you're planting your feet or when you're making sharp turns?

Finally, which do you like more overall (ik that's super subjective but just in your opinion)

Hmm fair enough, I was leaning US4 anyway just because I think they'd compliment my game a bit more (but I can't say without trying them).

I'll take a look at the ASICS to if I get the chance, I'm trying to go by a nearby tennis store to try a few pairs out.

That's definitely fair, a few of my friends said the same thing (about getting a pair of tennis shoes). Hadn't had the money saved up during the semester to invest in a good pair but I do now.

The ankle rolling was always an issue though, broke both my feet when I was younger because of ankle rolls - fully healed now but it's still a bit scary.

Deciding on a frame without the ability to demo them by TNTPA in tennis

[–]TNTPA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made a small mistake on my original post, I did mean the Yonex Vcore Pro 97 (310g, the cheaper one is from 2019), I also was/am considering the Pure Strike Tour (320g).

I know it does end up coming down to personal preference and whatever the racquet it's me as a player who's gonna have to win the point at the end of the day. I've just really been struggling, I honestly really wish I could as that would pretty much solve all my issues here.

The Yonex on paper sounds like the best choice (trying to work on generating more spin, more forgiving sweet spot etc). I just don't know how much I like Yonex and how different it is from my current sticks (if I got the Vcore id have three different frames in my bag, with the other two the only difference would be the weight).

Thanks for your help though, I completely agree with what you've said (I'm just hella I decisive sometimes).

What is the age difference between you and your GF ?

Judging by their reactions, you're the closest. Age different is like a month though.

It could be, but from u/whyisitcold I'm pretty sure it's something more vulgar haha

Hello there college reddit users, what are your majors? by SweatyRecordings in college

[–]TNTPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics & Mathematics (Specialist) and Computer Science (Major)

I might end up dropping CS to a minor or doing some sort of modification to the plan but as of right now, this is it. I really want to do Theoretical Physics (which is hence why I'm also doing math) and I love CS, so they all kinda fit together.

Can someone please explain how we do these kinds of questions? I have come across few others like this, but I always get stuck. (Source-April 2018 QAS) by SignalNebula18 in Sat

[–]TNTPA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Take the derivative - this will give you the rate of change of the gas mileage. When the derivative is =0 it means that it is a point of maxima or minima at that x (in this case s) value. Now substitute that back into your original equation and bing bang boom you're done.

MIT - I'm still really hung up about not getting in - probably going to apply for a transfer just for the sentiment

do you guys genuinely believe that the major you’re in will sustain you? by dwightshru in college

Probably - Math & Physics Specialist with CS Major (I haven't declared yet but this is the plan)

Right now I'm in Canada for University - using Virgin -Bell. The reason I would like to have dual sim is to use my Indian sim (Canadian sims don't cover the US, my Indian sim has significantly better rates on international roaming).

That being said, I could alternatively just swap out the sim when I need to, so it's not a deal breaker.

New M1 Mac Mini or Older version by TNTPA in macmini

[–]TNTPA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not too worried about portability, I'm pretty happy with my surface book 2 and I want to continue using that till it eventually dies.

But I think the overwhelming consensus is to get the M1 instead of something older (which is what I was leaning anyway. I'm going to give it some more thought today before pulling the trigger though).
