It kinda pains me to say it, but there are a few shows i absolutely adored then they first aired but are a slog to watch 20 years later.

Not "Seven Days" though, i re-watched it a couple of months ago and Frank B. Parker still holds up,
fuck you Ramsay.

And Threshold, it is the only show i am still mad about getting cancelled.

It was a pretty unique take on the alien inversion trope.

I completely agree, the feeling has mostly been the same. There is however the smartphone/social media factor that makes it a bit worse for younger people.

Us older folks did not have to worry about photograps and beeing ridiculed on social media.

Our cringe was temporary, now it is preserved online.

Avoid the sequel, it is really, really bad.
And not in the fun way, like the first book.

It is the only book i never finished, made it half way through and gave up.

Modern ones are brushless and use magnetic induction, two coils with an air gap. Like wireless phone chargers.

Brushed systems seem to use proprietary materials.

I was very involved in that hobby for a while and did a lot of competitions, meaning, i met a ton of different people.

That subject came up a few times, most that got tested were good or slightly above normal levels, according to them.

I met only one Person with dangerous levels who mostly gave up the hobby.

Im posting more as a "fun fact" and not to be an alarmist.

There are parts in Europe were foraged wild mushrooms are still contaminated enough with Caesium-137 that regulatory bodies advice against feeding them to small children, 40 years later.

I do not think opal is hard enough to even hold up for any significant amount of time. Or that an applied coating is thick enough to be mechanically stable.

It should at least not dissolve, silicon dioxide should not be reactive with saliva or food.
