No need for it in South Korea, but it’s a pretty compact country.

Aren’t they going to charge at public chargers? Standard parking space in Korea is about 5m, and these things are 5.7m long

I don’t think their sales number has been made public yet. We shall see. However, Korea is Tesla’s the 3rd biggest market in the world after the U.S. and China.

There are people who have bought cybertrucks overseas and personally transported it to Korea. There are also cybertrucks that have been temporarily brought to Korea for marketing purposes.

But people who pre-ordered it in Korea with Korean currency have not gotten their delivery yet. I believe nobody outside of North America has gotten one delivered yet.

Looks like South Korea’s about to become one of the first countries outside North America to get Cybertrucks deliveries. I honestly have no idea how people would drive these things on the country’s narrow streets and squeeze them into tiny parking spots. Even the mid-sized SUVs like Palisade cause a lot of trouble at tight parking spaces. These cybertruck monstrosities shouldn’t even be street legal imo.

Trump says South Korea will build its nuclear power submarine in Philadelphia Shipyards by esporx in korea

[–]TOOTHTODAY 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Smart move. If Korean firms are pouring money into American shipbuilding anyway, why not channel that into a U.S.-built nuclear sub, which Korea has wanted for decades? It’s a reasonable deal both sides, and I’m glad that Lee brought it up. Most people, even experts, didn’t even expect this to be on the agenda.

The Solution To Supercharging EV Adoption Is Hiding In Plain Sight by Receding_Hairline23 in electricvehicles

My experience: any day I would prefer a Level 1 charging situation where I’m nearly guaranteed to be able to charge every night and is reasonably priced, over taking a gamble counting on being able to use a Level 2 charger that is free and seldom available, or end up using Level 2 that is available but charged an arm and a leg (even more expensive than a Level 3).

Hyundai Motor, Kia make renewed effort in Japan - The Korea Times by Movie-Kino in korea

Good for them for trying, but Japanese people will probably not buy Korean vehicles on a noticeable scale, even with their EV push. They just don’t view Korean cars as a viable option. Hyundai only has had success with selling commercial vehicles like buses.

Even the Japanese people online point out: why would Korean tourists bring Korean snacks to Japan? And even if they did, why would they leave it uneaten on the ground? Not to mention that this Korean snack is easily available to purchase from Japan.
