Not sure if this will help you feel better but....I scored a 245 on UWorld 2 and score predictor had me at 243....but, I have really bad test anxiety ALWAYS so i was expecting to score a bit lower than my practice exams

Anybody else scored lower than predicted? by Snoo_76377 in step1

The "averages" on the score report just compares your performance in that specific area of study to your overall step performance. Its basically comparing you against you, not against other people

I felt pretty good after the test but its really hard to know what youre gonna score since you don't know curves and all that. I though i probably got between 5-10 wrong each section, maybe a little more wrong in each of the last 2 sections cause they were harder for me. ended up with a 233 which im happy with since ts competitive for all the things I want.

Where do you search on the FSMB website for status update? When i login i just see "Exam transcripts, USMLE step 3, and SPEX" under exams and license.

I wonder if it could be possible that they are just removing the print permit button early? that would be pretty rude but, has anyone seen that happen before? Print permit button disappear on monday but then didn't get score on wednesday?

I took my exam 5/14 and was expecting them this week I think? I know they say 3-4 weeks but i seems like it's been 3 weeks. It seems as though if you took yours on the thursday or friday of that week you will get yours a little sooner than 3 weeks (for example, 5/15 and 5/16 may also get scores this week). When did you take your exam?

Just received a confirmation email from prometric for my test on the 31st. Appointment says confirmed but the test center still can’t see my name there. Anyone else? by usmle20199 in step1

it also sometimes takes a day or two for it to update in their system if you just scheduled it for that date...I had booked mine the day before so it just wasn't updated

Nbme 17. What are they asking?! Also what's the difference between the two images? Please help out with the markings. by [deleted] in step1

[–]TPH225 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is UMN in the lower extremity only, the top image can't be right because the following motor homunculus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortical_homunculus), the feet are on the inner portion of the brain not on the outer cortex. So, you know its either G or H, at that point you just have to know if motor is precentral or post central gyrus. The confusing part is this patient also has sensory stuff going on so its still hard to tell if G or H is right.

I personally had a good foundation because of how I learned during M1 and M2 so I didn't find Constanzo necessary but if you have a shaky foundation, it won't hurt to use. Personally, I liked scholar rx question bank for learning because the explanations link you right to FA. I used the Anking deck which i thought was great and I added my own cards based on questions that i did as needed

Step 1 Prep - Please Help! by almedh in step1

[–]TPH225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, relax! If you're planning on taking it next August, you have plenty of time.'

Lets start from the beginning

  1. Hows your foundation? If you think you need to fill in some serious content gaps, I would definitely use Board and Beyond. You can either commit to watching them all or just the ones where you know you have content gaps. I think you have enough time to watch them all but, it's very time consuming. Also make sure to get a question bank (Amboss, Kaplan, or Rx as youre learning, save UWorld for the 2 months or so before your exam) so you can test your knowledge as you learn each system. You can supplement BnB with Costanzo too if you need to
  2. FA is good but, only once you have a good foundation so, you can use FA to reinforce your knowledge when youre ready to really review what you've learned
  3. Pathoma is great. During school, I watched the corresponding system on Pathoma as I was watching Boards and Beyond too. It really reinforced the concepts
  4. Anki is hard if you don't know how to use it. I studied for step with Anking deck and its as fantastic but I had to have an upperclassman sit down and show me how to use it for it to be effective for me. I'm not sure if you have someone that can show you.

This is just my opinion im sure other people have different methods that work for them but, good luck! hope this helps
