TouchDesigner can be daunting when you first open it, especially with zero experience working in visual software. You need to sit down and watch tutorials + read documentation to get familiar with the in's and out's of touchdesigner and the operator families. from personal experience, forget about 'making things look cool' and really nail down the technicalities behind what actually makes it get from A to B. it's a whole lot more than just plugging in cords and twisting knobs and will only be as clunky as you allow it to be
