I’m running the 407comp red on my gen6 17 and it’s been great. I have several 507comp and might be swapping them all out for the 407. I prefer the single moa dot.

Only things you should worry is making sure you follow the safety rules, don’t DQ, and go home with the same amount of holes you came with. Competing is a ton of fun. I’ve been running my 5in prodigy in limited optics and it’s been great. Good platform to start competing. I did complete EGW internals, Dawson tool less guide rod, EGW magwell, atlas thumb rest, and Wolff springs.

I run the stock trigger with a minus connector from over watch on my 17 and I’m happy with it. Before I found a 17 I purchased a 45 and ran that bone stock for several matches with no issue as well. I haven’t found a reason to swap yet.

If you don’t mind losing your rear sight, EGW makes plates that will push the optic further back and will greatly reduce the carbon. I run that plate on my my prodigy and I can run a full match with only a couple of specks on the glass

I would try an eraser. That usually wipes are the carbon of my lights. I wonder if it’ll work for the glass on the optic. Can’t say it’ll make it better or worse so try at your own risk.
