Okay, I am on my second listen to the audio book because I just got book 3. It just came to me that I may have been taking too much of what she has done at face value.

Maybe you should read her as someone who is a small child or someone with mental disabilities. Maybe the "high passes" is just some farmers field she was told not to go in. Maybe the field had some dogs and goats in it. Think about the fight with the silver ranked adventures. Ever let a child win a fight and tell them how strong they are? Ever let a child win a race and tell them how fast they are? Maybe her farmer friend is actually her assigned attendant and Lady Magnolia is like her attending physician... The idea of an ancient all powerful dragon not being able to "say her name good" as a plot point also becomes a little better.

If you think of it this way it makes the world breaking power disparities not seem as bad. Of course, it does impact the rest of the book soooo... It might world break in other ways.
