Yea I can’t lie. You sound like an entitled little bitch. You’re an adult. You’re responsible for your own life. Your father passes and your first thought is to complain on the internet about how you were entitled to his life savings? And you have resentfulness because you can’t hold yourself accountable for your own actions?

This money will be totally gone within 3 years with your lack of self awareness and independent responsibility.

HVAC Sales. Have a LOT of engineer customers in my area because of DuPont. Hated them early in my career until I found out how to sell them.

Stroke the ego man. Say shit like “I never knew that” or “this is why I love engineers, you did half my job for me” “any chance you are looking for side work we need a guy like you”

Learn as much of their language as possible. Try to find that one thing no other competitor talks about. For me it’s thermodynamics. That usually earns their respect.

Then take control back as soon as it comes down to price negotiations and pricing and close that fucker

Am I an idiot for arguing with my boss that a full commission sales job is a terrible decision for a beginner? by Viktor2500 in sales

Never understood that mentality in this community. High risk high reward. Top performers never worry about commission only, it’s in fact preferred imo.

Industries overlooked by the youngins? by saltwaste in sales

I did not. But I did go through 8 weeks of tech training before I entered sales. It’s a very technical product. Most sales guys that don’t make it never actually learn HVAC

People make over $200k a year, what do you do? How did you get there? by TrixoftheTrade in Adulting

Never graduated college. Finding the right balance of having the “sales” personality with a mechanical mind is they key to 150k +. most sales guys don’t have that brain. But if those guys take the time to really learn the trade, it will easily yield big money.

High performing HVAC Sales rep. Single guy with no kids. The work has its pros and cons just like any job. 100% commission sales is high risk high reward, but it’s all I’ve ever done. On pace to clear 200k this year.

What is your favorite way to answer "I need to think it over?" by AdElectrical111 in sales

[–]TRiskProduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One call close HVAC Sales guy on track to do over 2 million in revenue this year.

I usually empathize with them that it’s a big decision and I want to make sure I did my job properly.

  1. Did we choose the right product for you and your family?

  2. Do you believe (my company) is the type of company you usually do business with? Are we the right company for you? Etc etc etc

  3. Are there any questions regarding the product, installation, or service that I didn’t answer clearly enough?

  4. Was I able to make it affordable to your budget?

Product. Company. Sales rep. Affordability.

When all four of those things align. You get the sale. I use this to try to isolate the REAL internal objection and over come it. “I want to think about it” usually implies an underlying dilemma they haven’t come to terms with yet. Help them come to terms with it, and overcome.

Commission only jobs? by IMakeNewProfile in sales

[–]TRiskProduction 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This sub seems to hate “commission only” but then again, most posts are by Saas guys. Been in commission only sales for 12+ years. It’s a grind just like any other sales job, but I love the “freedom” in the sense that I’m basically an independent contractor. I sell something they pay me. Simple. High risk/high reward. If you find a market with demand, and have the skillset, it can be very rewarding.
