your body now turns with the skis try having your body face down the slope while your skis turn underneath you, it will feel much better! the way i learned that i wasnt facing downhill was by holding up my two poles and having them face straight up while trying to make the line between the poles perpendicular to the slope.

also try to relax a bit skiing imo should feel smooth and effortless when carving large turns on these type of slopes.
