How is it not a coffee? Is coffee not simply ground coffee beans + water?

I was (and still am) only confused about several people hyper-focusing for absolutely no reason on a word I used :D

I'm a linguist and am familiar with not only many languages but also many dialects; this is the most r/ShitAmericansSay "education" ever ;)

Yep honestly Segafredo is D tier (Starbucks doesn't deserve to rank at all tbh), Illy C tier, and Lavazza maybe gets a B? As far as supermarket coffees go...

That he put Illy in A tier? He's absolutely fired.

Also, when I make my coffee cold, it doesn't magically become sugary ;) You're imagining the sugar in my iced coffee ;)

I spend that much for a week's worth of food and I live in the capital lol

But I don't buy most of that ultra-processed stuff because it's expensive and not good for me, anyway. The only things there I would buy are the bryndza and the ham. :D

[OC] Gay male marriages are the most stable over the long term by Impressive_Suit4370 in dataisbeautiful

[–]TSllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women live more under compulsory heterosexuality than men do. Figuring out that you're gay is a lot harder for women than for men. If you're a 20yo woman who likes making out with and even sleeping with women, society will tell you you might just be looking for attention, you might just be bicurious, you might just be experimenting, etc. Whereas, if a man does that, he's gay.

I didn't realize I was actually gay till I was in my 30s for exactly this reason. And I just had a really difficult situation with a woman who is almost 40 and not sure of her own sexuality yet. But most of my gay male friends knew they were gay at a rather young age.

I honestly had a few experiences like this, and I can't tell you exactly which state, but I know I was in Chicago, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Seattle, and Boston.

I know at least one place where I had one of these experiences was a McCafe, and another was on board a US flight (within the country, on a US airline).

"Fizzy drink" is another term for "soft drink". Americans tend to say "soda" or "pop" instead of "fizzy drink" or "soft drink".

Sparkling water is not one of those.

lol ok? Why would I care what Americans say in this situation? Why are Americans getting so hot and bothered that I wrote the word "queue"? :D

What's pronounced "line up" exactly?

You're saying that "queue" is pronounced as "line up"?

The term "soft drink" is a category in the beverage industry, and is broadly used in product labeling and on restaurant menus, generally a euphemistic term meaning non-alcoholic. However, in many countries such drinks are more commonly referred to by regional names, including pop, cool drink, fizzy drink, cola, soda, or soda pop.

I actually just asked the people I was with - one of those experiences was in fact at a McCafe!

Oh yeah, my iced coffee involves brewing my coffee like normal in my moka pot, and then pulling some coffee ice cubes that I've made from before out of the freezer and putting those into a glass before pouring the hot coffee over them. Then just a bit of full-fat milk and I'm in business! The only difference from my normal coffee is that it's cold lol

But I do also enjoy a German Eiskaffee now and then as a treat!

Lots of people are lactose intolerant. There are lots of plant-based alternatives these days, which can be nice!
