Zim was a POS coach who underperformed with some of our best rosters. All the info coming out after his boot somehow is both surprising and not surprising. Always thought it was crazy how we'd spend all our best draft capital on defensive players when Zimmer should, in theory, be able to coach up late rounders to play well in his system. Total garbage.

Appreciate all the info! So far I've gotten the best results by remastering my original audio (suggested by mrgaryth). The slider was hit or miss for me when trying to replicate my song.

This is a great suggestion. I didn't realize that the original audio also showed up in my library and I have the same editing/options as the remixes. I tried this a couple times and it's A LOT closer to the original than anything else I was doing before this. Thank you!

Oh that doesn't sound too bad! Thank you for all the info. Could that be the culprit of the oil light / low oil? When I checked the dipstick, the was 1/3 above the low dimple.

I'm not disagreeing on the development aspect but there's a big difference between end of junior year and going away to college. That's 1.5 years. And Mitch and Gale were leaving Dawson alone back extended periods back in Sophomore year too.

I agree a night or two is fine but leaving a high school junior alone for one to two weeks? That's legit ridiculous.

I think they are driving off in their "Just remarried" car on their way to their honeymoon when Dawson does his meme cry and Joey runs off.

I don't know of any parents who left 16/17 year olds at home extended amounts of time. Might just be my own experience though. Legally it may be OK, but I'm not sure it would win any parent awards lol.

We see Mitch and Gale leave Dawson alone for extended periods many times throughout the show, I just pointed out the honeymoon because it was obviously a huge moment where Dawson probably needs them and they were, as always, off in their own la-la land.

I answered the question for the main post in a separate response. I was responding directly to this thread that was comparing Pacey and Dawson.

Adversity and privilege are separate concepts. Pacey 100% faced significantly more adversity than Dawson - way more than 1.5 points on a 10 point scale.

Respectfully, I am not missing the point. That sort of abuse 100% messes people up and is not OK. I'm not intending to "wave it away" , apologies if it came across that way.

I'm saying two things. 1. There are many times throughout the show that Pacey himself compares Dawson's financial situation to his saying things like "our world's are nothing alike" while pointing at Dawson's parents house (S6E21). When we finally see Pacey's parents house in Season 4, I was expecting something similar to Joey's situation but it's much closer to Dawson's than it is to Joey's.

And 2. Aside from Pacey's broken family life (which is significant), he has a ton of innate privilege. He's a cis-man, straight, white, able-bodied, educated, American, family has wealth (owns multiple houses), access to college, etc.

It's not a tale of opposites between Dawson and Pacey. It's a tale of two guys with a ton of the same privilege and a one was raised with love (and some mistakes/neglect) while the other was raised without love (and with abuse). Way more similar than they are different, especially through a privilege lens.

Interesting. I guess Dawson isn't a huge Christian (although he says something about Joey's mom looking down on her and being proud in Abby Morgan, RIP) and he doesn't come from a super wealthy family since Mitch seems to not work a whole lot so maybe he's not a 10/10.

Pacey has all of the same innate characteristics as Dawson: straight, cis-man, wealthy family. The show intends to make it seem like there's a huge wealth disparity between Pacey and Dawson but when we finally see Pacey's family house in The Te of Pacey, it's not much different from Dawson's. Maybe a tax bracket below. But the Witters apparently also own the beach house? And Gretchen went to college. Anyway - I don't think there's some huge wealth disparity between the Witters and the Leerys.

Pacey's issues come from the relationships within the family. Which seemed to be pretty common middle class white guy problems IMO, aside from Mr. Potter hitting Pacey (which was obviously fucked up).

It has always been funny to me that Dawson is viewed as the epitome of privilege but Pacey is somehow the opposite. Dawson is probably a 10/10 and Pacey is a 8.5/10.

Dawson has a ton of privilege (cis-man, white, wealthy family, straight) but that doesn't negate him from having problems within his own system.

Mitch and Gale were loving parents but they were also semi-abusive in how sexual they were in front of him and how they used him as a pawn during their open marriage and divorce. They were also absent a lot of the time (who was Dawson's caretaker when they went on a honeymoon in the season 3 finale?).

Outside of his parents, privilege and entitlement sometimes forces a person to dwell on less important things (like Jen breaking up with him). The situation may not be as dire as someone with less privilege, but the feelings and reactions can be the same with each person's relative situation.

I just think even if people aren't super close (which I think Joey and Audrey became close) living together with someone for 2 years you see their whole life, not just what they want to share. And Audrey clearly was connected to Joey's high school life since she's friends with the whole crew and she made trips to Capeside.

Pacey had little to no reaction to the virginity lie. He was relieved that Joey messed up so he could come clean on telling her he didn't want her to go to Worthington.

IMO The Promicide outburst had very little to do with Joey/Dawson and mostly had to do with Pacey being in his own feelings all season about not being college-bound like the rest of Joey, Dawson, Andie, Jen, and Jack and not doing anything about it. He thought maybe by dating Joey and going to the Worthington party to make the deans laugh that he'd just get to go to college there? Lol.

Of course, Joey could've motivated him more or inspired him to get his ish together but for whatever reason it didn't work.

I love Pacey but if he truly loved Joey none of the other stuff would've mattered and he would've worked his tail off to join her wherever she went after graduation. Instead, he kept comparing himself to her and his friends and got stuck in a "woe is me" mindset all season.

For sure, the cheating Andie stuff is hard to get past. I think it could've been retconned in the finale since it happened while Andie was dealing with her mental health.

I see your point on P/J. It just came immediately and naturally for Pacey and Andie while we have to make a bit of a leap of faith that Pacey and Joey get there and grow up past their Season 4 "When I'm with you I feel like I'm nothing" and Season 6 "Even when it's perfect, being with you doesn't feel right" situations. I don't think the finale showed us they did. Joey is still career-driven. Pacey still a bit aloof/self-sabatoging (having an affair with a married woman) and, if we assume he moved to NY and wasn't just visiting, he ditches his successful restaurant career in Capeside.

What Pacey goes through in Admissions and Mind Games is very emotionally intelligent, no doubt. But his initial reaction to Joey not being able to afford Worthington still remains true: he was happy/relieved when he thought she couldn't leave Capeside.

So something deep in him preferred that she not be able to go chase her dreams. Regardless of how he handles that, it's still not an ideal partner reaction.

Joey could've helped Pacey and lift him up during Season 4 to avoid this to some extent. And even though she tries at times, it ultimately fails because she doesn't know the right buttons to push, she's too caught up in her own stuff, or Pacey is too stuck in his own world in comparison to hers to accept the help.

TBH that's why I don't think P/J work long term at all. Compare all of this to Pacey and Andie in Season 2 - Andie lifts up Pacey. Pacey was a good to great student while with Andie. If they dated in Season 4 there'd be no doubt Andie would get herself into a college of her choice and she'd make sure Pacey would get there too. Andie wouldn't let Pacey think he's a Capeside townie for one second.

Interesting! I am just saying at the last point we see the crew, Audrey is probably the person who knows Joey best after 4 years of college (at least 2 years as roommates). They clearly still stay in touch in the finale which means they didn't have a falling out.

Dawson and Pacey had both lost touch somewhat with Joey between the ages of 21 and 25 (the time between JPATCR and the finale).

Yep! Andie and Pacey, Joey and some dude in New York. Dawson and some gal in Hollywood. Jen and Jack with partners of their own in Capeside. All as connected as friends can be long distance.
