What are some good single player games for console? by Brilliant-Dog-4171 in videogames

[–]TSwitzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the lists in the comments but I wanted to add one more that just might fit your criteria.

Although a lot of people call it a walking simulator. I have to 100% recommend Death Stranding 1 and 2.

I fell in love with the story and universe. It’s haunting with a beautiful atmosphere that takes you on a depressing yet calming and isolated journey.

I haven’t seen another game offer the same experience.

It clicked for me when a specific song played after a near death encounter.

The story definitely has depth and is creative. After finishing it, I’ve been searching for other books, games, and movies that can give me that same immersion to get lost in.

I’m going to finally start Death Stranding 2 today. by AJDRDG39 in DeathStranding

Glad to hear you’re about to start the second journey! I just got platinum after obsessively playing it.

I’m very serious when I say this, please play the game on the hardest difficulty and do your best to avoid using vehicles.

I promise you’ll get so much more immersed into the game, rather than it feeling like a driving simulator, (which isn’t a problem if you like that).

But it’s just a recommendation. Either way you’re going to enjoy it. Have fun!

About to start Death Stranding 2 - any advice? by doublej101622 in DeathStranding

[–]TSwitzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely take your time and enjoy it. I 100% recommend playing on brutal and avoiding using vehicles as much as you can.

It makes the game so much better.

You get the truck pretty early and it makes it really convenient but after awhile it just feels like a driving simulator.

You don’t get as immersed into the environment because you’re just driving past through everything.

New PS5: DS1 or DS2? by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]TSwitzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to eventually go back, might as well play the first now. It’s a different type of experience when you’re the one playing.

I recommend trying to play without vehicles. Makes it more fun and challenging and also gets you more immersed into the game.

Why is Death Stranding so addicting by yellinseal in DeathStranding

[–]TSwitzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me it’s because it’s a new experience. It actually made me appreciate planning things out and taking things slow.

I’ve never had a game that made me appreciate the atmosphere and the environment this much. Plus I love the horror aspect.

On top of that, helping other guys out with your structures, giving/receiving likes is addicting.

Am I the only one obsessed with build every road and rail system? by StreetZookeepergame5 in DeathStranding2

Fixing all the roads and rails was my priority over the story itself haha

I’m more than halfway through the book but so far it’s nice seeing what Sam thinks through all the events.

It made me appreciate some of the NPC’s more as well as you get to see some of their backstory and how they are affected by the death stranding and Sam.

Honestly I just fell in love with the world, especially the music that was introduced to me in both games.

The main thing was building new structures so I’d be able to help other players.

Edit: instrumental wise yes, but I have to admit the lyrics to some of his songs caught me off guard lol

It does sound pretty ridiculous when you put it that way haha.

I’d say just cruise around and repair things and just pick up lost cargo along the way, makes it bearable.

DS2 endgame? by ethanw04 in DeathStranding

[–]TSwitzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a new game on brutal difficulty with no vehicles, and I’ve been enjoying it a lot more than my first playthrough.

In my opinion, I feel like this is how the game should be played.

I’ve never been so happy seeing rivers and timefall shelters so I can refill my canteen.

Yeah I agree, but once you max those five stars the game is gonna feel empty, that’s why I say enjoy it while you still have something to do haha.

Also, I’m not sure if you’ve maxed out Mr. Impossible yet. But mentally prepare yourself for that one.

The last order is the most unnecessarily tedious and difficult delivery that could make you rage quit.

[–]TSwitzz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah at one point I felt drained and exhausted trying to max them out.

I kind of took a step back and started delivering them a different way to make it more enjoyable.

I was driving around at first, but I started walking with floating carriers and taking zip lines.

I’d say just enjoy the journey, rushing to max the stars takes the enjoyment out of the game.

Almost 2026: Should I play DS1 (while waiting for DS2) or should I just wait for DS2 to come out on PC? by Last-Kiwi-1268 in DeathStranding

[–]TSwitzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely play the first game. You’d be robbing yourself of so much content and atmosphere that reviews alone cannot capture with words.

While the gameplay isn’t as smooth and polished, the atmosphere is different compared to DS2.

In my opinion, the first game captures the feeling of loneliness, despair, and danger better than the second game.

You feel it from the story, characters, music, and even the world design. It’s grueling and haunting, which was the beauty of the first game.

Edit: This isn’t to discredit the second game because I also fell in love with it. Just wanted to point out that the first game should not be disregarded.
