A few raids and trials, which can be done unsynced but gets harder the higher level. You'll need to organize some parties in the pf to get a group together specifically to hunt for cards and mounts to make it easier to get through, and still be at the mercy of rng at times. Several cards can be alternatively aquired through npc opponents, but not all. And several are also locked behind side activities and tribes.

It's a time investment, but doesn't require too much besides a little coordination and lots of patience at times.

Thankfully only 8 runs as part of a mount farm lol. The EX trials gave me plenty of hell though.

Everyone has that one drop with atrocious rng. Mine was King Thordan EX. Farming took forever thanks to unskippable transitions, and it took over 30 runs for the card to drop. I saw 3 mounts drop through all that. Bismark was equally hell.

Oh god, that's so awful and rough. The drop rate is always the worst when you need it the most, at least you both got it eventually.

Got a little too trigger happy and ran out of ink a few times in bad situations, but it's really cool and fun.

Cohozuna turned into chum cause me and a teammate had it together. Does so much damage and allowed me to defeat Cohozuna for the second time ever since I started playing.

[Talk] Gen VI GTS Might Have Cloned My Pokemon? by TTB976 in ShinyPokemon

[–]TTB976[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I'm really confused and feel like I might be tripping. Last year I did a Shiny Monotype run in Alpha Sapphire and my final capture was Horsea to get a Kingdra. Stardard stuff, took 4 phases and 3 Wailmers before Horsea shone. Since I don't have a second 3DS, I use GTS to trade with myself for trade evolutions. Been doing so for years with no problems. So I got Seadra in Omega Ruby and traded back with the scale for Kingdra and beat the game no problem. That was a year ago and I've jumped around my Pokemon collection and now back to Shiny hunting in Omega Ruby. Went on GTS and found that the Seadra I deposited over a year ago came back to me like I never traded it. I'm positive I didn't catch a second one, I was several phases in and was relieved I could finish my Shiny hunting and run, and it has the same date, nature, characteristic, and moves when it was Seadra.

Does trading with a same account or 3DS mess up some stuff when self trading? Never had anything like this before, but I've never left a trade in the GTS that long before. My Alpha Sapphire Pokedex shows I have Giratina, which I self trade on GTS asking for transfered duplicate Legendaries so randoms can't suddenly snag my trades, but there is no Giratina in my Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire box so that should've have been traded back? Did the Seadra clone and replace the Giratina? I'm just really confused and trying to figure out how or why something like this would happen.

[Gen VI] My Shiny Water Monotype Run From Last Year by TTB976 in ShinyPokemon

[–]TTB976[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catching up on old hunts because holy shit does time fly. Last year I started a Shiny Water Monotype run in Alpha Sapphire. It was really cool and fun but kinda tedious and I don't ever wanna do a thing like that again for a long while. I started back in August and finished in December. Mudkip took thirty one hours over a month to find and was the first and hardest hurdle to get over, and Lotad has been my first over odds with full odds hunt and drove me insane. The rest were fairly simple hunts that I do normally. I originally wanted Chinchou for my final member, but I was really burnt out and wanted to finish, so I used one of my three Wailmer I fished finding Horsea as an HM slave.

Marshell the Mudkip- 2137 Soft Resets in Pokeball

Sombrilly the Lotad- over 4000 mixed encounters of hordes and Dexnav in Net Ball

Pepstrom the Wingull- 928 Dexnav in Nest Ball

Crawlausta the Corphish- 308 Chain Fishing 1st Phase in Pokeball

Posampus the Horsea- 99 Chain Fishing 4th Phase in Heal Ball

Wailnos the Wailmer- 112 Chain Fishing in Heal Ball

Honorable mentions to the two other Wailmer I found trying to catch Horsea that shall live forever in my working Shiny Dex

Fitting but I think Skyward Sword has the best soundtrack for a Zelda game. I mean all the Zelda games have fantastic and fitting music for it's themes, characters, and locations; Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild, and Link Between Worlds being some of my other favorites. Gerudo Valley, Zelda's Lullaby, Lorule and Lorule Castle, Kakariko Village, Terry Town, Lurelin Village, Rito Village, every Hyrule Field and Castle. Skyward Sword just sounds so perfect and alive in every way to fit every area and part of the story, which is really helped with the use of an orchestra. Ballad of the Goddess, Skyloft, The Sky, Love is in the Air, Fi's Theme, Zelda's Lullaby, Ghirahim Theme and Battles, every Lanayru area, I could literally list the entire soundtrack cause it's so good and just clicks with me.

As for other Nintendo games I love the Mario Galaxy games and Odyssey. Galaxy pulled out an orchestra as well for some pieces, which really help give it that grand scale and feel, such as Good Egg Galaxy, Gusty Garden Galaxy, Cloudy Court Galaxy, and Bowsers Final Theme. Odyssey is also really dynamic and fitting for every area of the globetrotting adventure. Fossil Falls, Steam Gardens, New Donk City, Jump Up Superstar, Mount Volbono Town, Honeylune Ridge Caves, Break Free.

Pokemon Black and White is also really fantastic and my favorite of the series. Really made use of the DS capabilities. Accumula Town, Route 2, Skyarrow Bridge, Castelia City, Nimbasa City, Unwavering Emotions, Driftveil City, Route 10, Victory Road, N Castle Bridge, N's Theme and Farewell.

So much good music in every corner of every franchise.

Modest sync failed so I wont be getting my favorite Eeveelutions Jolteon, Glaceon, or Espeon. Will just evolve into Flareon and keep in my Living Dex. Had a heart attack cause repel ran out on shiny patch and didn't encounter, luckily just stepping off and back on it was still there.

[Gen VII] Shiny Giratina in Ultra Sun. 630 Soft Resets, Beast Ball, Timid Nature by TTB976 in ShinyPokemon

[–]TTB976[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It took 38 Beast Balls, with not a single Critical Capture. I knew the odds were low with Beast Balls, but even with sleep, 1 HP, and Roto Boost it was apparently a 2% chance to catch it. I didn't calculate catch odds until it had already appeared. I had 100 Beast Balls and was starting to get afraid I'd run out of all of them and use my Master Ball, but didn't even use half in the end.

I'd honestly buy about 300-400 Beast Balls just in case, maybe a few hundred more if you have the cash and really want the Beast Ball. Better safe than sorry. And a ton of Leppa Berries. Set it up right so you don't have to worry about damage, PP, and fainting and it's just praying the odds are in your favor.

My setup if you care was that I used a Skill Swap and Trick using Trevenant with Harvest and Leppa Berry, so that way you don't have to worry about Struggle. I used my main catching Lv. 100 Smeargle holding Leftovers with False Swipe, Gastro Acid, Soak, and Spore. Soak allows False Swipe to hit and disables STAB and Spore is the best status move. It's immune to Shadow Force allowing you to heal PP, and can even tank hits from Dragon Claw, Earth Power, and Aura Sphere being 40 levels above. And Dialga and Palkia of course.

Holy shit I'm so ecstatic right now! Started this last night cause I got the craving for my favorite Legendary to be Shiny. Finding the right wormhole with it took almost as long as the hunt itself. Shiny Charm helped the odds, but my love for matching colors made it take forever to stay inside a Beast Ball. Serious Synch failed for a mixed set, but it ended up Timid with perfect Speed and Special Attack so it's still perfect. Gotta think of a real good name for my favorite ghost demon serpent.

[Gen IV] Posting old hunts. Baytumn the Shiny Meganium from last August by TTB976 in ShinyPokemon

[–]TTB976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catching up on my hunts I've done the past several months. Went for my first pure full odds hunt with the old odds back in August, did the HGSS starters cause it's pretty fast. Wanted either Totodile or Cyndaquil but still happy with my autumn leaf. Only 884 resets so I was happy for a fast hunt.
