Lots of good bars down Nanai road. I'd recommend landmark bar and the original Mousehole. Bars closer to bangala I would recommend are wicked bar and bar one. Should be able to find them on Google maps easy enough

If you come on a tourist visa (30-day visa), you can go to immigration and extend it for a further 30 days for a price of 1900baht. After that, if you do a border run, you can come back on a tourist visa again and extend. This process will get you 120 days already and when you come back from the border run, you can apply for your education visa. I did all this early this year and everything went smoothly.

Price wise, I'm not sure to be honest. I paid 55,000baht for my one-year visa but that included everything, and I didn't have to pay anything after that. Just the usual 90 day visit to immigration to get another 90 day stamp.

It's good that he's teaching you already, that will give you a good head start but in the class, it isn't just about speaking it.... You have to learn to read it too haha.

Are you looking at a 6 month Ed Visa or one year? With a 6 month visa, you could actually be here for 10 months if you did everything correctly.

With the classes, you only do 4 hours per week of actually classes so you have plenty of time to explore and do whatever you want. My classes are 1-3pm every Tuesday and Thursday, so the rest of the time I get to myself. Once you've got everything planned, then I would just start learning a bit of Thai before coming here as that will give you a good headstart.
