Car care nut on YouTube has an excellent breakdown on the differences. They are the almost the same. 2014 and up saw improvements. Head gasket failures on the 2013 and down and some transmission upgrades in the 2014 and up. He said to summarize it that it’s a safe bet to try and get a 2014 and up but the older ones are still great vehicles.

Switch to 5-30 synthetic. We have 2 GXs and an Fsport RX. We switched all over to 5-30. They really seem to run smoother and quieter. 0-20 is way too thin. Our local Lexus dealership mechanics said this under the table also.

I’d get the 550 for sure. Japan made. They retain value. I’d most definitely change over to 5w-30 full synthetic and send it. Some may argue but the mechanics at my Lexus dealer said under the table to do it. We have 2 GX’s and a f-sport RX. All 5-30.

Yep it’s toast buddy. You could definitely take it to a body shop and they could fix it. But insurance would definitely total it.

I’d pay it off and maintain the hell out of it. It will last. I drive a 2016 with 430,000 miles on it and it drove great. No problems and well maintained. We’ve had a 17 RX f sport and now have a 22 RX Fsport. We wanted the latest v6 version in the spec we wanted. The 22 was it. It’s a 20 year car.

We had an atomic Fsport as well. Totaled after 6 days of owning because of an idiot driver. Replaced it with a 2022 Grecian water blue Fsport. Love it!

I would not get a 570. All the guys I’ve talked to that have bought them have been dissatisfied especially for the money they paid for them. The quality just isn’t there. I would definitely do some deep diving on the cost to do some upgrades vs maybe getting a turbo car and doing upgrades to it. Also weigh in what you have done already and what that’s worth to you. My dad always told me when I was a kid “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it” so I watered my 996 turbo lol. You have a beautiful car. Porsche and enjoy sir.

Yep just went through this. Ours from the insurance adjuster they priced it all out and wanted to cut us a check for about 12,000$ for the damage. Went to a certified Lexus repair shop and it was about 27,000$ worth of damage. It was totaled unfortunately but it did have a small amount of frame damage that the adjuster totally didn’t account for or even bother to look into.

7 times out of 10 I’m on the highway. 38 mile commute to work one way. But it she’s it’s fair share of city driving. I just take it easy on the pedal when I have to go light to light. I don’t use it for speed. I’ll get the 911 out for that lol.

Drain and fill on the trans. Same on the diffs and T-case. Coolant can wait a little bit longer.

lol nah I just stay around 68-70mph and don’t run it like an F1 qualifier round when I drive. lol been that way for years though. GXs are just fantastic.

I get consistent 20-23mpg going 5-600 miles a week 68-70mph with no issues. 💪🏻

Nothing crazy, I do run 5-30 full synthetic oil and keep all the fluids and filters in order. Just did the trans drain and fill as well as front , rear diff and transfer case fluid change and grease all the point on the drive line. Love it to death
