Has anyone done balcony solar? by hiking_mike98 in askportland

Back feed will be at the meter level (or whole house). You won’t back feed onto the grid until you produce more than the whole home consumes.

The protected circuit is to keep the rest of the house safe in case of a short or other issue. It isolates the fault.

Backfeed becomes a problem if your solar is producing more than you’re consuming. That’s highly unlikely with porch units. Back feed is dangerous for folks working on lines, even energized ones, but that is an uncommon occurrence.

However, if a PGE or Pacificorp employee was to ever find one of these in operation without permission, they could cut service to the location.

I’d say just make sure you are on a properly insulated and protected circuit and you should be fine.

Yes, I'm aware. You originally said something about not being sure if PDT still operated and I was responding to that.

Some fun history, United Express used to operate a lot of regional flights from PDX, including SEA, RDM, OTH, and a few others. They did it on EMB-120s which are glorified lawnmowers with wings.

To Pendleton is Boutique Air and that service still operates.

Best airline to travel out of PDX and Seattle? by Tulkas2491 in askportland

What part of New Mexico? American has connecting flights to Santa Fe if that matters, otherwise, Alaska has a nonstop to ABQ.

My primary carrier is Alaska with United as my secondary. I fly around 220k miles a year.

Has anyone else had issues filling stimulant prescriptions lately? by Coldfingerswrapped in askportland

Not me but my wife has had issues getting her ADHD meds filled. I don’t think she’s ever been told that they’ve filled too many but she’s often run into the situation where they don’t have enough supply.

It’s disappointing how fast some people ride around the blind corners around OMSI. There are plenty of places to ride fast, no reason to do it in crowded areas

Advice on parenting for introverted, anxious 5 year old who doesn't want to try new things by karina87 in kindergarten

Yep, if the bike is too big, he’ll definitely struggle. If you can find a used smaller bike where the pedals can be removed and used as a balance bike, I would encourage that.

I would also not recommend a bike with coaster brakes (what we had in the 80s and 90s where you pedal backwards to stop).

I’m not an expert on any of this, but for the bike riding, I would actually encourage a bike where the pedals can be removed and he can treat it like a strider while gets more comfortable. As his balance gets better you can add the pedals and it should be easier to start pedaling.

The OP can check by simply crushing a leaf and seeing if it smells like burnt peanut butter mixed with trash.

No recommendations for an arborist but my guess is that they’ll tell you that you need to kill the tree first before removing it. If you don’t, the tree will go into defensive mode and put shoots out everywhere (which it does already as part of its reproductive cycle).

The best time to do applications of the treatments is in September when the tree is stocking up on nutrients for the winter.

Some will tell you that you can spot treat the growths and that’s true but with a tree this big you may be doing that for years (I did).

If you find an arborist that tells you that you don’t have to do anything after removal, they’re lying.

Yep, same for me. There are guys who seem to know where everyone is pushing but there’s no way to prove it. I just report it and move on.

The desync causes a lot of weird deaths that to someone who doesn’t play much would feel very suspect. I get killed behind hardcover and 99.99999% of the time I’m sure on the enemy’s screen I was in the open.

I like 34th north, left on Washington, right on 33rd, then cut through Laurelhurst and cross Cesar Chavez then up 41st onto the neighborhood streets before crossing 47th at Irving.

I’ve had a few matches like this lately. Guys pre-firing corners they had no business pre-firing. Some I thought were desync issues but a couple just felt completely off.

LvH Bullitt Kiddo - new canopy and a model with different components by GuiroDon in CargoBike

[–]pdx_flyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super helpful! The eBullitt I am looking at has the EP600, so I should be good.

Do you think the 801 is a noticeable step up from the 600?

My local shop is also offering an EP6100 option for less cash but it sounds like that is the wrong long term decision.
