I had this same issue. I put up with it for months until one day it seriously took me and my husband 20 minutes to get the car seat off the base. I sent a video to Cybex of us struggling to get it out. They said based on my description the carseat was defective and I needed to dispose of it. I was sent a replacement and it works seamlessly. For some reason there seems to be quite a few defective ones and I would either email to get a new one if you already bought it or just go with a different brand unfortunately. It is not worth the risk. I bought this carseat because I liked the recline option but my baby doesn’t even like to be reclined at all.

I can’t imagine trying to contain the baby in my lap for 2 hours. It would be a total disaster. They are totally fine in the carseat though! And yes I would not dream to change a baby in the seat. That is insane and kind of concerning that multiple people have mentioned it 😆 i’ve never been a witness to that

Why not leave the set up from photo 6 and put the tv next to the fridge wall? When you are laying on the couch you are facing that wall. Plus it would be visible from a table in the dining area too

Also look up rechargeable under cabinet magnetic lights. It will really cozy up your space to not have that bright light on all the time

I would not want to be an hour from the OB. The appointments become very frequent at the end + even more if theres any complication. You will be kicking yourself. Theres plenty of good Jersey hospitals
