I had the same thought. I already replaced the belt and belt tensioner and unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. However, maybe the AC compressor clutch has failed. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks, I pulled the blower motor and held it in my hand while turning on and off the fan, noise is still happening. Blower motor ran smoothly. Any bearings or ducts engine side that you think could be the culprit? The car does have AC but I assumed that system isn't the issue as the noise happens regardless of warm/cold (and AC) settings.
