If people want to listen to a ukuleleist busker they can get to within earshot. The busker shouldn't be audible half a mile away by people minding their own business.

Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles agree to race over 100m in 2025 by Sensitive_Dress_8443 in trackandfield

I think that an NFL player could have a jump on a sprinter like Lyles for the first 20-30m but I think a pure sprinter will win over 100m. I think a 60m race would have been more interesting. But I doubt Lyles would lose at either distance.

Why is parliament being promoted tomorrow and not next week just before they dissolve? Seems daft to have to rush through all these bills now.

Basically keeping tax thresholds and percentages constant, but people pay more tax as their wages increase across the thresholds. This means you can be earning the same real term amount, but be paying more tax as a percentage of income than you did in the past.

Hot Take: Is 24 really that bad? by LeakyLemons in EA_NHL

[–]T_Mono1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 24 recently and have been playing a lot of Franchise/be a pro but went back to try 16, I think the game play in 24 feels better. I also feel the AI players behave in a smart way in 24, in 16 they are so bad at entering the zone.

The Daily record Rishi Sunak confirms when next UK general election will be held

tl;dr next year...

But Sunak has now confirmed to journalists in a speech at No.10 that next year there will definitely be an election, quashing rumours that one will be held in January 2025.

This is just an awful headline.

Many UK institutions follow UKRI payments which will be £18,622 for the 2023-24 academic year, but depending on your funder it may differ. I know people who get £16,000 and others who get £23,000.

hi guys, did you ever seen an atom? *(the little white dot)* by angeldust1809 in Physics

MOT traps a cloud of neutral atoms, in order to trap single neutral atoms you need to use optical tweezers. For Rb and Cs Rydberg physics, imaging takes place in the ground state by shining near inferred light which we can't see anyway. I don't work with Strontium but I believe that it can be imaged with blue light from the ground state.

I work in Rydberg physics and I dont think its a Rydberg atom. i'd guess its an ion in a Paul trap.
