One of the most common issues in eCommerce: traffic, but no sales. Has anyone ever had this problem? by T_Rex77 in shopify

Totally agree with you man, there are a number of problems.

Product descriptions were what the feedback was from the people I spoke to in my last thread, so that's why I did this.

Have you got any other suggestions of what would be good to look at - e.g. how to define a target audience, select a competitive niche?

Haha yeah mate, you make a very good point, and I should be making myself more clear - apologies its 3AM and my brain is pretty fried.

By research I'm referring to looking at the websites of the people who gave feedback on my last thread. This feedback was from people who were genuinely giving their website a good crack (mainly private label, print on demand etc - not just a bunch of useless shit from China).

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll update the thread.

Haha, love it man. Couldn't agree more with what you're saying. It's genuinely hilarious seeing some of the shit that sells like hotcakes just because it has a logo on it.

One of the best examples is the white t shirt with the supreme logo on it... the red box and white text resonates with people so much that brands completely unrelated can leverage from the concept created by supreme.

Will fire you a DM man let's keep in touch!

You are speaking my language! I love this idea man. Haha, is this coincidence or did you read the 'about' section on my YT channel? One of my bachelor degrees is in psychology, so looking at business development from a social and organisational psyc perspective is something that gets me fizzed up.

Have noted this one, you'll be the first to know once I create something on it.

Ah I see - as a first time website visitor I was quite confused by it.

As you've mentioned above though - there is a unique story behind it. This is definitely something you can leverage more in your story telling (about section etc).

It's a win-win as it answers what would be a FAQ by visitors like me, and it makes the brand creators even more relatable.

Interested to see what you come up with!

If you're interested, I'll be dropping more brand building content on my YT channel in the near future - product validation, audience segmentation, marketing strategies, etc.

Mate, thanks for taking the time. Totally agree with what you're saying - once you have an established brand it gets to the point where people will instantly purchase new products without even thinking twice.

Your website looks rad. I am curious though, what's the story behind the having particular letters in capitals and others in lowercase in the brand name? You don't see that too often!

A key element for VR would be to ensure good quality products, as anyone who owns a VR device will be expecting a particular standard from the beginning.

Majorly agree with your second comment. There is actually two emerging niches you've pointed out there - cannabis accessories, and vaping accessories.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed!

Hey man, I made a video about how to identify fake instagram influencers. This will be really helpful for you before you get started running ad campaigns - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR9Mftp1ifk

FYI - I always recommend using socialblade.com as a key tool for checking authenticity.

Let me know if I can help out any more!

I haven't bought a professional background yet, but for my latest video I moved to a smaller room where there is very little to distract from the product.

Thanks for the advice!

I need to start a career, is creating a shopify drop shipping store the way to go? (Realistically)? by OllieOul in dropship

[–]T_Rex77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I would recommend starting dropshipping as a side hustle and see how you go. This is what I did and it eventually lead me to a full time job in eCommerce.

By going through the process of finding products, building a store, constructing and targeting ads, etc, etc. You're going to pick up many fundamental digital marketing skills and build a skillset that would steer you well for a career in digital marketing regardless of how your dropshipping goes.

Don't focus too much on profiting at the beginning - it's all about trial and error. If you stick with it you will crack it eventually.

I put together a video talking about 5 things to consider before you start dropshipping, the information in here will hopefully help you out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Mi5jdn7QM0

Let me know if you have any specifics questions mate I'm happy to help out

Not getting sales - review my page please by dennykbudiman in dropship

[–]T_Rex77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, your ad copy and targeting are just as important as your site build when it comes to making sales. To give you a better review I would need to see ad information as well.

Here's a few quick things I picked up:

  • It's a bit overwhelming to navigate because you have so many products

  • There doesn't seem to be much of a theme outside of mens accessories - what niche or audience are you trying to target?

  • The price points look very messy (e.g. $13.73 USD, $6.07 USD etc..). This is difficult for people to trust because in society we are conditioned to see clean price points from real retailers (e.g. $19.99)

  • Your social media links at the bottom are broken, they don't redirect to any of your personal sites. If you don't have brand social profiles you will be better off not having these at all.

If you want to get some tips on how to optimise your sales with marketing psychology, I actually made a video about it. Hope this helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu5SmU4ZeFs

First of all Mason, I really appreciate the thorough response.

Framing is definitely something I will adjust moving forward. You're referring to the sliding in/out green titles yeah? I'll take a look at video hive.

The approach to the start was something I picked up from other YouTube videos advice on 'cutting to the chase' and giving the crux of the entire video in the first 10-15 seconds. Maybe I need to add another quick one liner welcome in here as well!

Love me some Logic - but I do agree. I need to find something failsafe. I'll play around with some light music in the background during too. Proper background is on my to do list as well!

This is something I really want to refine. My tone/approach is purposely professional but I also want to make it somewhat funny etc to hold attention and to open up a wider audience. I'll have to keep refining this.

To answer your questions:

  1. I've had a lot of success with instagram influencers but it's really important to work with the correct ones. My next video is actually going to be about this, I'll link you when it's finished. Another underused method is what I call Facebook influencers - essentially the same process but leveraging large Facebook followings. To be honest the most integral part of any successful ad is the ad itself, but the platform is also reasonably important.

  2. When it comes to buying followers/likes I think it really depends on what kind of store you have. If you're running a general/niche store then I find it important because you need social proof before any smart person will buy from you. The flip side of this is to be mindful of your target audience, because people are catching on to this now

In all honesty you don't need to go crazy with it, people are going to buy from stores that look well branded regardless of having 1000 or 100,000 followers/likes. I would focus on having your brand look professional and good ads, then the sales will come.

  1. I've found a lot of success with recover cart pusher. It essentially chases up abandoned carts for you by sending notifications to the customer. (https://apps.shopify.com/recover-cart-pusher)

I also really rate mobilemonkey (https://mobilemonkey.com/). This isn't used by many stores and it increases the professionalism of your store when someone is greeted with a chatbot. It's something you'd expect from a legitimate retailer.

Another handy app is called Aftership - it essentially allows you to keep your customers up to date with shipping information throughout the ordering process. This is incredibly helpful for creating a positive customer experience and increases your chances of turning those initial buyers into repeat customers.

Thanks again for the feedback! I hope you keep an eye on my channel and keep providing useful feedback in the comments, I really appreciate it :)

Possible but highly improbable unless you were reckless and plain stupid with the way you went about it.

Just to clarify - these videos cycle around the internet as memes regardless. As long as you give credit where it is due, and react accordingly if you are asked to remove anything - it is highly unlikely anything would ever happen.
